'Treadstone' Episode 8 'The McKenna Erasure' promo has Agent Edwards use Haynes to keep Ellen Becker and CIA agents at bay
Who is waking up the CIA agents part of the black ops called Treadstone and to what end? That is the question that drives the show 'Treadstone' where agents who were embedded in different parts of the world with a cover story programmed into them subliminally.
Now that each of them is being awoken, these agents are a threat and the investigation into the same has been launched by CIA agent Matt Edwards (Omar Metwally). What the agent doesn't realize is that there are people in the CIA who do not want the truth behind Treadstone to be released.
It is these people who use Ellen Becker (Michelle Forbes), Agent Edwards' boss to stop him from digging any further into the operation. Agent Edwards, however, is not ready to give up on his mission.
He is now tracking the brain behind the operation with the help of one of Treadstone operatives Stephen Haynes (Patrick Fugit). He went as far as to get a hold of the woman who woke Haynes up, however, she ends up getting killed during a shoot out.
Now, when Edwards seemed to have reached out to his boss to get help, we see Ellen not supporting him in the promo video for episode 8. In fact, she tells him, "You went dark and you left me holding the bag." She is referring to how Edwards decided to go after the Treadstone agents without approval from the CIA.
From the promo, it is also clear the CIA has sent agents to bring in Agent Edwards along with Haynes. Of course, he has a plan. To bring an end to Treadstone, he will use an operative as a weapon, he uses Haynes and tells Ellen over a call that he will let Haynes lose on the agents if they do not back down.
He is a Treadstone operative, and how lethal someone like him could be is something Ellen knows, so what call will she make? We also have Tara, who is tracking down Treadstone after she sees her friend Meghan get killed in front of her for being involved in the reinvestigation of Stiletto Six.
Now, Tara is definitely not ready to give up on her investigation. We see her arrive in Berlin to get information from a source about Treadstone in the promo as well.
The upcoming episode of 'Treadstone' will air Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET on USA Network.
