NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ‘Today’ host Savannah Guthrie playfully teased co-host Craig Melvin’s “sexiness” on-air after the former abruptly left the NBC show midway.

It all happened on the Wednesday, September 13 ‘Today’ broadcast when Melvin ditched the segment and left his co-hosts.

Although Melvin was present for most of the segment, by the end of it, he was nowhere to be seen.

A similar incident happened on Monday’s ‘Today’ episode when meteorologist Al Roker also left the morning show abruptly.

After reporting on his weather segment for about ten minutes, he left Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie to continue the segment.

He was also seen outside the plaza. However, later, he was nowhere to be found when all the hosts came together on the couch.

Melvin revealed to ‘Today’ viewers about Roker’s whereabouts adding he is “out on an assignment.” Al also later revealed where he had been through an Instagram post.

Savannah Guthrie reflects on Craig Melvin’s ‘sexiness’

During a recent ‘Today’ episode, Savannah Guthrie, Craig Melvin, Al Roker, and Sheinelle Jones kicked off the segment as the hosts got their flu shots.

Later, Guthrie conducted the Deals and Steals segment.

However, when the morning show came back from a commercial, Guthrie, Jones, and Roker were the only ones sitting on the couch.

The show then played a song by Justin Timberlake, ‘SexyBack’, as Roker added, “Craig left. Oh well.”

Jones chimed in adding, “Yeah. He had to go on an assignment.”

After minutes into the segment, Guthrie also joined the hosts and joked about Melvin.

She said, “Craig had to leave a little early. He said something about canvassing for votes door to door."

Guthrie continued, “He feels voters want to meet him personally and assess his sexiness.”

Jones then went on to tell the viewers to vote for Melvin as he has been nominated for People's Sexiest Morning Host category.

As Melvin left ‘Today’ early, he didn’t host ‘Today 3rd Hour’ and only Al Roker, Sheinelle Jones, and Dylan Dreyer were there.

Roker exclaimed, “Craig had to leave a little bit early for an assignment.”

Dreyer teased, “He’s too sexy?”
