Why did Al Roker leave ‘Today’ midway?

On the Monday, September 11 episode of ‘Today’, Al Roker ditched the morning show midway and left his fans wondering about his whereabouts.

Although he didn’t reveal where he went at the time, he took to his Instagram to share the reason on Tuesday.

He posted a snap posing with two meteorologists, WCNC Charlotte's Larry Sprinkle and WMBF's Andrew Dockery.

He captioned the post, "This morning I got to do weather with two of Carolina’s best weather folks, @sprinkle_larry from @wcnctvin #charlotte and @andrewwmbf of @wmbfnews They help us every morning bringing @todayshow to North and South Carolina."

Dockery also posted a snap on his Instagram with Roker adding, “What a fun morning with @alroker & @sprinkle_larry! The sunrise didn’t disappoint either. Thanks for coming to Myrtle Beach, friends."

Al Roker’s bonding time with Sky

Meanwhile, Today’s beloved meteorologist Al Roker has been spending time with granddaughter Sky and he recently posted a sweet snap of himself with her.

In the first photo of the weatherman's social media slideshow, he sat comfortably in his home, cradling the tiny baby in his lap. A warm smile graced his face as he gazed down at Sky, who returned his look with wide, curious eyes.

Sky looked absolutely charming in her baby blue floral-print romper. The subsequent slide captured a tender moment of Roker and Sky. The newborn rested on his chest, her little arms draped around him as she peacefully napped.
