'To The Extreme': Release date, plot, cast and all you need to know about the Vanilla Ice biopic starring Dave Franco

News has broken that Dave Franco, brother of James Franco, is to play the role of Vanilla Ice in the rapper's upcoming biopic titled 'To The Extreme'. The actor's interview with Insider showcased how he went about preparing for the role. The biopic first became big news when it was named in The Black List in 2018, where a list of "unproduced screenplays" is "voted to be favorites amongst film executives". The production was published in Production Weekly in 2019, but Franco has revealed that there is no fixed start date on the upcoming production due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The official synopsis is yet to be released. Although we would assume that since it is a biopic, we would see the life of Vanilla Ice (real name, Robert Matthew Van Winkle) chronicled. The rapper is also an actor and television host and is known for his releases such as 'Ice Ice Baby' and 'Play That Funky Music'.

Franco is known for his roles as Pere from 'Neighbors' (2014), Jack Wilder from 'Now You See Me' (2012), Ian from 'Nerve' (2016) and Eric Molson from '21 Jump Street'. In 2016, Franco won a CinemaCon Award for Breakthrough Performer of the Year and MTV Movie Award in 2015 for Best Duo with co-star Zac Efron in 'Neighbors'. The actor's recent works include 'Little Big Awesome', 'If Beale Street Could Talk', 'Easy', 'Zeroville' and '6 Underground'.
