'Tiny Pretty Things' Episode 3: Who was Cassie cheating on Nabil with? Here's how a torn picture causes chaos
Spoilers for 'Tiny Pretty Things'
Episode 3 of Netflix's ballet drama 'Tiny Pretty Things' titled 'Class Act' revealed a bit more about Cassie Shore's (Anna Maiche) life before she was in a coma after being pushed off four stories from the roof in Episode 1 'Corps'. As Neveah Stroyer (Kylie Jefferson) tries to battle her recurring nightmares and June Park (Daniela Norman) sabotages all her business school interviews so she can stay at Archer's School of Ballet, the tables were turning on Cassie's case, thanks to Officer Isabel Cruz (Jess Salgueiro).
When Neveah goes to visit Cassie in the hospital, Cruz tells her that Nabil Limyadi (Michael Hsu Rosen), Cassie's boyfriend, had a troublesome past in Paris. His previous school said that there were "fights, threats, a temper" and Cruz said that his first night in Chicago, students heard him arguing with Cassie. Cruz tells Neveah that she may be Nabil's new obsession. Back at Archer, Neveah and Nabil ended up being the only two people who volunteer for the City Works Ballet season opener but Neveah was weary of Nabil also volunteering when she did.
Nabil tells Neveah that it's just too painful to watch the show without Cassie signaling that he's struggling with Cassie being in a coma. Later, when Delia Whitlaw (Tory Trowbridge) asked them to dance, Neveah ended up resisting. When Nabil asked her why, she told him that he creeps her out, resulting in him walking away saying, "you think I pushed her, like all the others." Neveah later finds Nabil on the roof, and if fans remember correctly she had earlier found a half torn picture of Cassie in the drawer of her own room since she was the student who ended up replacing Cassie at Archer. Neveah thought that picture would help Nabil remember the good times with Cassie, but Nabil took one look at the picture and realized that it wasn't him that was holding Cassie in the picture. The man's face was the part that was torn off. Nabil was livid saying that he knew there was someone else, "What happened to her, she deserves it," he yelled.
Neveah ends up snooping into Nabil's room after he blew up like that and under his bed, they find a box with the torn-up picture Neveah had given him but also a torn bikini top that belonged to Cassie. It was the same bikini top that she was wearing in the picture. As Neveah was walking on the street telling her brother Tyler Stroyer (Araya Mengesha) about what was going on in the school, Nabil was behind her and he ended up pushing her in front of a car. Neveah freaks out and runs and eventually tells Cruz about the picture and that she does not want the school notified. At the gala, Neveah tells Caleb (Damon J Gillespie) that she spoke to Cruz about Nabil, but Caleb reveals that he was the one who pushed Nabil and the chain reaction caused Nabil to push Neveah — it wasn't Nabil's fault.
During the gala, Nabil goes to Neveah to tell her that he didn't want her to fall, and she tells him that she knows about the bikini. Here was a story to be found because Nabil revealed that Cassie had promised Nabil that there was no one else. When he had left Paris and came to Chicago, he wanted to spend time with her, but all she wanted to do was party with her friends. "She may be dead on the outside, but I'm dead on the inside," Nabil said.
Cruz too was at the gala, and after approaching Nabil, she ends up arresting him on the basis of "resisting arrest". Monique 'Madame' Dubois, the head at Archer ends up bailing Nabil out. At the end of the episode, when Neveah and Nabil are in Cassie's room, they end up kissing. But the interesting part is who was Cassie cheating on Nabil with? In 'Corps' it was shown that Bette Whitlaw (Casimere Jollette) had the other half of that very same picture Neveah gave to Nabil — the other half was of the picture featured Ramon Costa (Bayardo De Murguia) — their ballet master. He had a relationship with a student.
