'This is Us' Season 4 Episode 8: Kevin deals with the aftermath of sleeping with Cassidy while Deja and Malik fight over consent

Sex is the reason for some self-doubt and introspection in Kevin's (Justin Hartley) life in this episode titled 'Sorry'
PUBLISHED NOV 6, 2019

The previously aired Season 4 Episode 7 of 'This is Us' focused heavily on Malik (Asante Blackk) and Deja's (Lyrica Ross) romance, and the repercussions it had on their very different families.

Despite a really awkward dinner filled with many outright confrontations and subtle accusations, Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) and Randall (Sterling K Brown) decided to let their daughter keep seeing Malik under adult supervision.

Their story continues in the next episode, and in the trailer for the upcoming 'Sorry', we see the two of them studying and spending some quality time together while Beth stays close by, watching them.

While things seemed to be going great at puppy love-ville at one point, in another moment we see Deja walking away accusing Malik of not being able to take no for an answer.

A concerned Beth obviously confronts Malik about it, and we will know the reason for their argument about consent, but we feel like 'This is Us' is trying to throw us off.

For all we know, Malik and Deja may be having an argument about something that has nothing to do with sex. Meanwhile, sex is the reason for some self-doubt and introspection in Kevin's (Justin Hartley) life.

As we saw in Episode 6 of the ongoing season, he slept with Cassidy (Jennifer Morrison) and that obviously will have some repercussions, especially since as recovering alcoholics, they have both been advised to not go on a romantic journey.

In the trailer, we see Nicky (Griffin Dunne) chastizing Kevin for having sex with Cassidy, who is vulnerable after separating from her husband. Even though she had her heart set on reuniting with him, she is heard telling Kevin that she signed the divorce papers the previous day.

The trio has become somewhat of a dysfunctional family themselves, and we will see them all together at Nicky's court hearing where he says that he doesn't regret any of the actions that landed him in trouble.

We will see Kevin grappling with his choices and his actions when Season 4 Episode 8 of 'This is Us' airs on Tuesday, November 12.
