In Episode 4 of 'The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live', Rick Grimes and Michonne find a golden chance to break free from the CRM's grasp.

Earlier, Michonne bravely jumped off the helicopter, pulling Rick along with her. What initially seemed reckless turned out to be a lifesaving move, as the helicopter crashed shortly after their escape, potentially putting their lives at risk had they not taken that leap.

Viewing this turn of events as an ideal opportunity, Michonne plans to use the crash to their advantage.

With the CRM likely presuming them dead in the accident, she sees a clear path to freedom from their oppressive hold.

Despite Michonne's repeated pleas for him to return home with her, Rick Grimes adamantly refuses.

This refusal sparks a heated argument between them, leaving Michonne questioning whether Rick still loves her.

Finally, Rick discloses the reason behind his decision to stay with the CRM. He reveals that Jadis Stokes (Pollyanna McIntosh) possesses incriminating evidence against him, threatening to hunt them down and harm their loved ones if he escapes.

Furthermore, he shares insights into Donald Okafor's (Craif Tate) mission, expressing his belief that he can bring about positive change within the CRM, putting an end to the violence and paving the way for a better future for generations to come.

Despite Rick's explanations, Michonne remains skeptical and presses him to reveal the true reason holding him back.

In a vulnerable moment, Rick admits that he can't bear the thought of losing Michonne again. He says that during his time in CRM, he has learned "how to be dead and live now."

He says that he can't take a chance of feeling alive again if he doesn't know that he won't lose her again.

With tears in his eyes, Rick confesses, "I can't go through that pain again."

Moved by his honesty and love, Michonne convinces him to come home, assuring him that together they will find ways to protect what they hold dear.

With newfound courage, Rick agrees, and the couple embarks on their journey back to Alexandria, determined to face whatever challenges lie ahead united.
