Spoiler alert for 'The Walking Dead' Season 10

With the midseason premiere of Season 10 shortly upon us, viewers have been discussing what they would like to see in the second half of the season. With the Whisperer war looming on the horizon, there is a lot to look forward to.

But first, let's look at what happened in the first half of the season. While the season starts with the Whisperers and the survivors keeping away from each other, a Russian satellite crashing down on Earth soon changes that.

Ezekiel revealed to Siddiq that he has thyroid cancer. The latter realized that Dante was a Whisperer spy. Dante strangles him but his identity is revealed and he is imprisoned. He is later killed by Gabriel in his cell.

Meanwhile, after the Walkers attack Alexandria, Negan goes missing. He is later captured by Beta after walking into Whisperer territory and seemingly aligns with Alpha. Carol and Daryl go looking for Alpha's horde with Aaron, Magna, Connie, Kelly and Jerry. However, Alpha's horde surrounds them and traps them in a cave.

Fans are now looking forward to what could come in the new episodes. On a Reddit thread, one fan wrote, "I can't remember the last time I was this eager for a premier, midseason or otherwise. I love the direction this show has been taking recently and what I have seen in promotions/trailers has me pumped for the next eight episodes!"

However, fans hope that the Whisperer war will be wrapped up by the end of Season 10.

A fan responded, "If they drag this into next season, that will be too much of it. I am already half-questioning the reality of a huge group of people all going off the rails crazy like this. If it was decades after a world-ending event and many people didn't remember civilization, I could see it, but this is too cultist too soon to be believable for me."

Fans also hope that Negan's story will follow his arc in the comics wherein he kills Alpha. One fan hopes Alpha's daughter Lydia witnesses this. They wrote, "It would be interesting to see how she would feel about Negan going forward. In 10A she gets along well with Negan because they are both the outcasts."

Viewers are also hoping for multiple casualties in the upcoming Whisperer war. One fan wrote, "I really hope for the Whisperer WAR, we get multiple deaths of named characters, unlike All Out War. That's the only thing I'm hoping for these last 8 episodes. Make it memorable in a good way!"

Of the characters expected to die, fans think Ezekiel's death to be inevitable. Though Alden seems likely to die, one fan hopes he doesn't as they felt he is a "criminally underused character".

'The Walking Dead' will return on the AMC on February 23, Sunday night at 9/8c.
