Dana Monique landed on 'The Voice' stage as the very first contestant of Season 20 and it led to quite a chaos among the coaches as John and Nick fought for her to make sure she is part of their team

‘The Voice’ Season 20 finally premiered on Monday, March 1 on NBC network with judges namely Blake Shelton, John Legend and Kelly Clarkson. Nick Jonas made his deserving comeback on the show replacing Gwen Stefani as the judge on the big red chair. Carson Daly, like always, took care of the hosting responsibilities.

Team Gwen’s Carter Rubin had won Season 19 of ‘The Voice’, which also made him the youngest male winner ever on the show. ‘The Voice’ celebrates its 10th anniversary with the strongest vocalists from across the country invited to compete in the show's newest season. Speaking of the premiere episode, Dana Monique landed on the stage as the very first contestant and it led to chaos among the coaches as John and Nick fought for her to make sure she is part of their team.

Who is Dana Monique?

Dana showed her exceptional singing skills and completely floored the judges especially Nick and John as they were the first ones to turn their chairs. The 41-year-old crooner impressed them as they both wanted to pick her for their respective teams. Kelly, unfortunately, did not turn her big red chair around and Blake was the last one to rotate his chair. After much deliberation, Dana went with Team Nick which made him jump with excitement. Dana is a background singer since she was a teenager. The Houston, Texas, singer had earlier revealed that she became a background singer because she likes “helping other people bring their dreams to life.”

Apart from the judges, the Internet also gave a thumbs up to Dana. A lot of social media users rushed to Twitter to praise her singing skills. One user stated, “@NBCTheVoice Dana should’ve been 4 chairs!!!#TheVoice”. One added, “Dana Monique got me rocking and rolling. She’s got that grit and power, seasoned singer. Does she remind you of anyone? Come on, squall. Good audition. #TheVoice #premiere” One user shared, “Dana chose Nick?  That’s a surprise.  I thought she was going to choose John.  #TheVoice” while another posted, “Yessss Dana Monique. Your voice is unbelievable!!! sign#TheVoice” The next one asserted, “LETS GET IT!!!!! Dana made the ONLY correct choice. Sorry @johnlegendOne point to Blake for actually helping Nick #TeamNick”  One concluded, “Dana is making it to the semifinals and/or finals... mark my words #TheVoice #TeamNick”
