'The Twilight Zone' Season 2: Release date, plot, cast, trailer and all you need to know about Jordan Peele's reboot
Jordan Peele is back with yet another round of his take on Rod Serling's original 1960s horror 'The Twilight Zone' and the timing couldn't be more perfect. Arriving right on time for National Twilight Zone Day, Peele's modern reimagining of the classic carries his signature tones as displayed in the Oscar-winning 'Get Out' and the Lupita Nyong-starrer 'Us'. Be prepared to be wowed, made, and left very, very creeped out this June. Here's all you need to know about the reboot's second season.
Release date
'The Twilight Zone' season 2 drops with all 10 new episodes available to stream at once on Thursday, June 25, on CBS All Access.
Plot
The anthology horror is known for picking up creative and taboo topics to spin creepy, unsettling, and quite frankly disturbing tales around. It's like 'Black Mirror', but the element of horror is not technology-centric. As the intro of Serling's original would disclaim, viewers get transported to a whole other 'dimension' in Peele's revisit of the horror. The second season, as announced very cryptically by CBS and reported by Indie Wire, will use "introspection and self-exploration to usher viewers into a dimension filled with endless possibilities.”
Cast
Peele returns as the host in his crisp black suit. The stories he shows us will see a slew of big names from the industry, including Morena Baccarin, Jenna Elfman, Ethan Embry, Sky Ferreira, Tavi Gevinson, Topher Grace, Tony Hale, Gillian Jacobs, David Krumholtz, Joel McHale, Chris Meloni, Gretchen Mol, Paula Newsome, Billy Porter, Jimmi Simpson, Jurnee Smollett, Daniel Sunjata, Damon Wayans Jr and more.
Creators
Actor-comedian turned director Jordan Peele of 'Key and Peele' fame revisits Rod Serling's original with his own ambitious reboot that first dropped in 2019. Peele, who is known for 'Get Out' and 'Us', teamed up with co-executive producer Simon Kinberg, a British-born American screenwriter, film producer, and television producer, known for his work in the X-Men film franchise, 'Mr & Mrs Smith' and 'Sherlock Holmes'.
