What happened in 'The Tourist' Season 1?
After an off-road car chase, Elliot, an Irish man, wakes up in a rural Australian hospital with no memory of who he is and how he landed there. With the help of local cop Helen and whatever little clues are at his disposal, he tries to discover his identity before his past catches up with him.
He gets his first major clue in the form of Luci, who turns out to be his ex. They are now caught up in a scheme involving the gangster Kosta who regularly consumes LSD and gets hallucinations of his dead brother, Dimitri.
In the finale episode, Luci manages to find Dimitri who faked his own death as he wanted to leave the life of crime he and Kosta were caught up in.
Kosta and Luci die during a shoot-out. Detective Inspector Lachlan Rogers pins Kosta’s death on Elliot and Helen. However, Helen and Elliot walk away from the accusations freely as speed cameras capture Rogers driving with Elliot.
Later, Elliot meets a mysterious woman named Lena who shows him a nasty scar on her stomach and says that it’s from the time he convinced her to smuggle heroin and a man cut into her to get the drugs out. Despite not remembering anything, he tries to confess to the crime. However, then Lena says that she doesn't know him.
The season ended with Helen finding out about Lena and telling Elliot that she will never forgive him for doing something so disgusting. But when she changes her mind and attempts to reach out to Elliot, he swallows some pills with liquor.
What is the plot of 'The Tourist' Season 2?
In 'The Tourist' Season 2 will, Elliot and Helen will travel to Ireland to search for the answers to Elliot's identity and past. However, they end up facing life-threatening consequences of his past actions.
The official synopsis reads, "Set against the striking backdrop of Ireland, The Tourist Series 2 sees Elliot (Jamie Dornan) and Helen (Danielle Macdonald) confronted by friends and foes. As they attempt to uncover the secrets of Elliot’s past, they are soon dragged into a longstanding family feud where they face the dangerous consequences of his past actions."
