Will The Rose disband? Band announces last track with label after contract termination

The Rose will release ‘Beauty and the Beast’, a single recorded before the members enlisted and will be their last track with former label J&Star Company

The Rose, a four-member rock band, has had a rough journey with their former label J&Star Company. Back in February of 2020, the members of the band accused the label of not providing any payment to the members since their debut as well as demanding members stick to a rigorous promotional schedule. After the fallout between the label and the members, member Woosung revealed in an interview that the issue had been settled and their contract with J&Star Company had been terminated.

The members debuted back in 2017 and the sudden enlistment of three out of four members of The Rose means that fans of the group have been having a rough time too. But The Rose now finally has some good news for Black Roses (their fans). On December 28, it was announced that The Rose is going to release a new single that will drop soon titled ‘Beauty and the Beast’. The single was recorded by all four members of the group ahead of their enlistment.

‘Beauty and the Beast’ release date

The Rose announced that they will release their new single, ‘Beauty and the Beast’ on December 29, which will mark the end of 2021 in a splendid way for their fans. The new song has a dreamy atmosphere, and encapsulates the beauty and power of sincere love. The song's message is simple — nothing is impossible with love. The music video for the song will also feature all the members because it was recorded, like the track itself, when the band was still under J&Star Company's management. The single ‘Beauty and the Beast’ will be released on all major music platforms on December 29 at 6 pm KST (4 am ET).

The Rose terminates their contract

The agency has announced that their exclusive contract with the boy band The Rose has officially been terminated after the members filed a lawsuit against the agency for "manipulation of the artists". The four members of the band, namely Woosung and the other currently enlisted members — Dojoon, Hajoon, and Jaehyeong — were already active as an indie band before they made their debut with J&Star Company.

On December 28, J&Star Company announced that the exclusive contract with The Rose will end with the release of the single, ‘Beauty and the Beast’, and requested a lot of support for the members in their future activities. Whether the group disbands or signs on with a new label will be determined once Dojoon, Hajoon, and Jaehyeong return from the military.
