While she has already been eliminated from the K-pop girl group survival show, as of December 27, the ‘My Teenage Girl’ trainee, Jo Yu-jeong has been accused of school bullying and assault by one of her elementary school classmates, "Mr A". In an online statement, Mr A stated that the former MBC ‘My Teenage Girl’ contestant as well as her group of friends had been aggressors and had repeatedly assaulted him for a long time since 2014.

In his statement Mr A alleges that Jo Yu-jeong had an argument with Mr A in the year 2014, when both of them were in middle school. After this, Yu-jeong ordered her friends to bully and assault him. Mr A also said that despite Yu-jeong not being from the same school as himself, she ordered many of her friends from Mr A’s school to bully him over a period of many years and he had faced many instances of unwarranted assault.

Mr A claims Jo Yu-jeong kicked him

Mr A also claims that Jo Yu-jeong and her friends assaulted him by kicking him in the stomach numerous times and shaken his head aggressively. He claims that in his struggles during the assault, he also ended up with a tear in his ear. Mr A goes on to allege that the acts of aggression from Jo Yu-jeong and her friends was incessant. Even after changing grades, her friends would hound him time and time again. Mr A claims that he was bullied by Jo Yu-jeon for a period of three years while he was in middle school.

Mr. A reported, “They (Jo Yu-jeong and her friends) always swarmed around and started various fights. They also engaged in drinking and smoking.” He questioned her public image asking, “How do you show your face on TV while you beat and bullied me for so many years? If you want to appear on TV, it’s okay, you must apologize for your actions and go away. I really wanted an apology.” Mr A claimed that if Jo Yu-jeong had apologized first, he would not have gone public with bullying allegations.

Jo Yu-jeong rubbishes Mr A’s claims

While Mr A has accused Yu-jeong, the singer and trainee has falsified all his claims and stated the acts of aggression were mutual and were instigated by him. In her statement, Jo Yu-jeong states, “It is true that I did not have a good relationship with Mr A, but I have never bullied him.” She acknowledged that there was a group assault but since Mr A was the aggressor, it was a mutual fight rather than a case of bullying.

Jo Yu-jeong claims that Mr A first insulted her by saying, “Didn't you get an education because you didn’t have a mother?” Jo Yu-jeong alleges that this was the beginning of the physical fight between them.

Jo Yu-jeong also acknowledged the allegations claimed she was a part of a group during her school days which had a bad influence on her — this led to her drinking and smoking at a young age. However, Jo Yu-jeong claims that she does not want to apologize to Mr A because she is certain that what he claims to be an assault was a fight triggered by his hurtful words to her. Jo Yu-jeong ended her statement saying, “I’m really sorry if anyone felt fear,” but emphasized, “Mr A is not a victim.”
