CENTRAL EUROPE, EUROPE: The latest HBO series, 'The Regime', which is the brainchild of Will Tracy, illuminates the complex politics of an unnamed European nation.

The series follows Elena Vernham (Kate Winslet), who is disintegrating under the weight of her paranoia over her health and fear of losing control of her nation.

Her paranoia, however, has only exacerbated the misery of her palace staff, who are tired of their chancellor's demanding attitude.

In the middle of all, Agnes (Andrea Riseborough) had demonstrated her devotion to Elena from the beginning, but in the most recent episode, even her loyalties were questioned.

Living under Elena's control in the palace can be difficult, but Agnes has always demonstrated her worth to Elena through her loyalty to her, and it is safe to believe that Elena also trusts Agnes wholeheartedly.

In the most recent episode, Agnes receives a text message offering her a way out, but she ignores it.

Later, Elena asks Agnes to take care of Oskar's (Louie Mynett) teeth because he supposedly stinks. Agnes is seen brushing Oskar's teeth when her phone rings with another message, saying that they can help her son stay healthy.

It should be noted that, while Agnes is seen in the series dating a fellow worker, her son is never mentioned.

However, it is possible that the text was referring to Oskar as her son, expressing her tremendous concern for the poor child who is always disregarded by his overbearing chancellor mother, or that a fresh twist is on the way, revealing Oskar's true parentage.

However, Agnes refuses to go along with the idea, texting back that she is faithful to Elena.

Later, she receives another text message containing a Google Map link and an image of a man.

The man was spotted holding a placard that said they were ready to help her and Oskar.

Piqued by her curiosity, the woman travels to a designated location within the palace and speaks with the American over the phone.

The American warns her that Elena's rule is set to fall, and they can assist Agnes and Oskar with a safe exit in exchange for sensitive information about Elena.

Agnes, who appears to be interested in the bargain, notices a soldier going down the corridor via a window. She refuses to comply with the plan, fearing that if caught, she will be accused of treason.

'The Regime' is available to stream on Max
