LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The fictitious world of a central European country makes up the backdrop of HBO's latest miniseries, 'The Regime.'

The show, which premiered on Sunday, March 3 and is scheduled to debut its second episode on Sunday, March 10, is created by Will Tracy.

The first episode of the series follows Elena Vernham (Kate Winslet), the chancellor of a hypothetical central European country, as she faces troubles upholding her political regime.

Moreover, the inaugural episode reveals her growing concern about her health and her groundbreaking decision to pursue NATO independence.

The first episode of the series, titled 'Victory Day,' highlighted Elena's continuous power struggle.

However, by the end of the episode, she emerges as a formidable force to be reckoned with, opting to sever ties with America, beginning with repaying their debt and, most importantly, seeking independence from NATO.

The second episode will reveal the ramifications of her decision. By arresting Minister Susan (Pippa Haywood) and Dr Kirshaw on allegations of their involvement in her assassination attempt, she has effectively solidified her authority and instilled fear among her ministers.

Elena's private life with her distant husband, Nicholas Vernham (Guillaume Gallienne), will also come under scrutiny in the upcoming episode. Nicholas is displeased with Herbert Zubak's (Matthias Schoenaerts) growing influence over her.

The run time of the episode will be between 50-55 minutes.
