'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills': Kyle Richards declares she will resume hunt for her mother's stolen ring
A skiing trip to Aspen with her husband Mauricio Umansky and children in 2017 didn't bode well for Kyle Richards. She returned to find numerous family heirlooms and valuables worth $1 million stolen from her Encino mansion, the list of stolen items also included a ring that belonged to her late mother Kathleen.
Richards is one of three sisters but she inherited 'the majority' of her mother's keepsakes when she passed away in March 2002, according to People. She had dreamt of bequeathing the priceless items to her daughters: Portia, Farrah, Alexia and Sophia and the burglary just left Richards entirely traumatized. She confessed to Bravo in 2018 that the trauma got too much for her to handle and she even contemplated moving out but stayed back for the sake of her dogs that loved the home. Richards recalled the tale of her missing ring in a new episode of 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills: Secrets Revealed,' according to TooFab.
The police continued to investigate this crime but none of those baubles were to be found until July 2019. This was the time when Richards saw her mother's ring in an image shared by Diane Keaton, said Richards in the episode. Keaton had captured it in a photo she took of a fortune teller she spotted in Santa Monica after being enamored by her "interesting" long black nails. Richards then reached out to the Oscar-winning actress who unfortunately didn't have any details and wasn't able to offer any information about her, other than the location where she had taken the photo.
Even though it wasn't much, Richards didn't plan to let the information go to waste and she hired a private investigator to try and track down the fortune teller. The investigator tried to but couldn't find the woman and Richards then teamed up with recently axed 'RHOBH' housewife Teddi Mellencamp to try and locate this person. Their combined forced too yielded no results, Richards explained in the special episode. Richards further explained that she had to give up the search back then to focus on filming for the latest season of 'RHOBH' but in the new episode, she said that she is determined to resume the hunt for the stolen heirloom. "I want to know if she bought that from someone at a pawn shop, even if I have to buy it back from her, I'm happy to do that," she said.
