Comedian-turned-actor Mike Myers has undoubtedly been one of the most influential people in the entertainment industry and his credentials are a testament to his greatness. If you are one of his ardent fans, then we have some good news for you. The exceptional actor is set to make his Netflix debut with the upcoming comedy series ‘The Pentaverate’.

This will be the first time in more than a decade that Myers will be seen in a Television series. Based on the actor’s 1993 movie ‘So I Married an Axe Murderer’, the upcoming series revolves around a secret society that has been working on influencing world events for the greater good since the Black Plague of 1347. However, a Canadian journalist named Ken Scarborough (Myers) feels that something is being hidden from the world.

So, he embarks on a journey to uncover the truth about society. Will he be able to expose them? or he’ll become the victim of the mysterious society? The answer to that question will be given when the series arrives on Netflix.

When does ‘The Pentaverate’ release and where can you watch it?

The upcoming comedy series will be premiering exclusively on Netflix on Thursday, May 5, and will be available for streaming at 3:01 am EST. To watch the series, viewers can download and subscribe to Netflix. Download the app from Google’s Play Store and Apple’s App Store to watch your favorite TV shows and movies.

What is ‘The Pentaverate’ all about?

The official synopsis reads, “What if a secret society of five men has been working to influence world events for the greater good since the Black Plague of 1347? As this new series begins, one unlikely Canadian journalist finds himself embroiled in a mission to uncover the truth and just possibly save the world himself. Remember, the Pentaverate must never be exposed!”

Who stars in the upcoming comedy series?

The series will be led by the extraordinary Mike Myers, who will be seen playing 8 different roles on the show. Meanwhile, Ken Jeong stars as Skip Cho and Keegan-Michael Key as Dr Hobart Clark.

The iconic actor began his acting career in Canada and starred in several projects. However, it was ‘Saturday Night Live’ that made him a superstar. In 1992, he made his feature film debut with ‘Wayne’s World’ which turned out to be a huge hit and that’s how he entered Hollywood with a bang. Since then, he has been a part of several amazing projects such as ‘Austin Powers’, ‘Mystery Alaska’, ‘Shrek’, ‘Inglorious Basterds’, ‘Terminal’, and ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’.

Other actors to feature in the series include Debi Mazar (Patty Davis), Jennifer Saunders (The Maester of Dubrovnik), Richard McCabe (Exalted Pikeman Higgins), and Lydia West (Reilly Clayton).

Showrunners

The series has been created by Mike Myers and written by the amazing trio of Myers, Roger Drew, and Ed Dyson. Meanwhile, Tim Kirkby has donned the director’s hat for the upcoming series.

Myers, Kirkby, John Lyons, Tony Hernandez, Lilly Burns, and Jason Weinberg serve as executive producers on the show.
