PARIS, FRANCE: Created by Todd A Kessler, the ongoing Apple TV+'s biographical drama, 'The New Look,' sheds light on the glittering facets of the fashion world.

The ten-part drama series tells the stories of fashion pioneers Christian Dior (Ben Mendelsohn) and Coco Chanel (Juliette Binoche).

The initial three episodes of the series depict the challenges faced by the Fashion Capital due to German dominance.

In the third episode, it was revealed that Coco gets her lover, Hans Von Dincklage (Claes Bang), arrested as a part of a plan to save herself from being implicated for her German ties.

Nevertheless, even with this attempt, her name persisted on the list of Nazi collaborators. In the fourth episode, she faced interrogation from Charles de Gaulle's French Force of the Interior.

The fourth episode, titled 'What a difference,' focuses on the Fashion Capital's return to normalcy after being liberated from Nazis.

Coco, who was enjoying her new-found serenity, is suddenly unsettled when her actress friend Arletty (Joséphine de La Baume) knocks on her door seeking refuge, underscoring that she is being targeted due to her association with a German guy.

Coco's challenges escalate as she receives a visit from authorities representing the French Forces of Interior, leading to a subsequent interrogation.

Unfazed and true to her sassy nature, Coco denies any affiliations with the Germans. In a bold move, she even threatens to involve Winston Churchill for her protection, thereby placing both MI6 and the French Forces of Interior in a precarious position.

Following her release, Coco meets her nephew André Palasse (Joseph Olivennes) and Oscar Davies (Joshua James). They are introduced to Malcolm Muggeridge (Rupert Young), a distinguished journalist with a background as an MI6 agent.

Initially skeptical, Coco declines Muggeridge's suggestion for an interview aimed at rehabilitating her public image. However, a shift occurs when Coco witnesses Arletty's public humiliation.

In the evening, Coco agrees to meet Muggeridge and is prepared to divulge information about her connection with Spatz. However, just as this unfolds, André intervenes and whisks her away, exposing Muggeridge's true intentions in the process.

To avoid the potential public humiliation faced by her friend Arletty, Coco opts for safety and decides to go with André and his daughter Gabrielle (Alice Haldane).

The episode concluded with Coco crossing the Swiss border.

'The New Look' is now streaming on Apple TV+
