Marvel and DC may be monopolozing the superhero universe, but the comedy 'The Neighbor' goes across the Atlantic to get its superhero all the way from Spain. Also known as 'El Vecino', this Spanish Netflix original is based on the graphic novels by Santiago Garcia and Pepo Perez.
The Netflix original will air on December 31, 2019.
With his business not gaining traction, and a patchy relationship with his girlfriend Lola, Javier unexpectedly is transferred powers from a dying alien that fell from space. Not understanding what to do with his new powers, he navigates the world gaining recognition after being caught flying on camera. As the public tries to figure out who the man behind the mask is, Javier is forced to call himself 'The Titan'. With his work cut out for him, he navigates through life with his newly adorned powers to see if he can help elevate evil as his girlfriend tries to investigate the mystery behind the new superhero in town.
Quim Gutiérrez plays Javier and Clara Lago play the role of Lola, his girlfriend. Quim Gutiérrez is known for his roles in 'Dark Blue Almost Black' (2006), 'The Last Days' (2013) and 'The Hidden Face' (2011).
Lago, a famous Spanish actress, is known for her roles in 'I Want You Gin' (2012), 'The End Eva' (2012), 'The Commuter Eva' (2018). She had her breakthrough in the psychological 'The Hidden Face' (2011).
Other cast members include Adrián Pino, Jorge Sanz, Catalina Sopelana and Sergio Momo.
