'The Midnight Club' on Netflix: Fans hooked to horror-mystery series, call it a 'masterpiece'
'The Midnight Club' is the latest addition to Netflix's horror genre. The mini-series is created by Mike Flanagan and Leah Fong after they were inspired by Christopher Pike's 1994 novel under the same name. Flanagan also served as showrunner and executive producer along with Trevor Macy.
Flanagan confirmed the cast in a series of tweets on Twitter: Adia, Igby Rigney, Ruth Codd, Aya Furukawa, Annarah Shephard, William Chris Sumpter, Sauriyan Sapkota as the titular cast, and Heather Langenkamp as the doctor presiding over the hospice of the terminally ill, who did a stellar job portraying their characters. In addition, Zach Gilford and Matt Biedel, and recurring Flanagan collaborator Samantha Sloyan have appeared in recurring roles and they stole the show in their limited screen time. However, the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes reported an 87% approval rating with an average rating of 7.4/10, based on 38 critic reviews. The website's critics' consensus reads, "Mike Flanagan's hot streak of heartfelt horror stories continues strong in 'The Midnight Club', a tale of terminal teenagers told with jolts and joie de vivre." Now, let's dive right into how the fans perceived it.

They meet at midnight every night to tell each other scary stories. One night they make a pact that the first one to succumb to their disease is responsible for communicating with the others from beyond the grave. After one of them dies, bizarre occurrences begin.
After the series was released fans could barely contain their excitement so they went on a rampage on Twitter expressing their thoughts and emotions, while some think Flanagan is a "genius" others are in awe of the young cast members' acting.
