'The Midnight Club' which is helmed by Mike Flanagan, the maestro of the horror-mystery genre is back with a new series, 'The Midnight Club'. It is the perfect mood setter as Halloween is near. 'The Midnight Club' is one of the highly anticipated series this year, as Flanagan's previous 'Midnight' series was well-received by its audience.

However, the 'Midnight Club' has quite a lot of known faces who have been Flanagan's favorites alongside new young actors, like Iman Benson, Igby Rigney, Ruth Codd, Annarah Cymone, Chris Sumpter, Adia, Aya Furukawa, and Sauriyan Sapkota. The series is set at a manor with a mysterious history as eight members of the Midnight Club meet each night at midnight to tell sinister stories while looking for signs of the supernatural from the beyond. However, when one of them dies, all things go south. The new Netflix series is based on Christopher Pike's novel of the same name from the year 1994. However, the series doesn't follow the exact storyline of the series.

'The Midnight Club' on Netflix: Is Mike Flanagan's new series similar to 'The Haunting of Bly Manor'?

The last episode of 'Midnight' shows how Ilonka (Iman Benson) really believes that she was cured by the magic spell. But when Sandra (Annarah Cymone) bursts her little bubble, Ilonka gets upset and turns to Shasta for help. Shasta is living with a false identity as she really is Julia who went to Regina Ballard to get help and get cured — and she was cured. Regina Ballard is actually the owner of the mansion who got betrayed by her daughter as "Athena" didn't partake in her mother's wrongdoing before it got turned into a hospice. Ilonka was getting used and manipulated by Julia as she is sick again and she feels the 1968 magic that cured her would help her again. However, everything is stopped by Dr Stanton as she comes right on time to stop the ritual.

Amidst all the craziness which is happening, the kids are visited by their loved ones when Anya's (Ruth Codd) best friend, Rhett comes to see the place she lived in. Ilonka then discovers the sign Anya sent from the afterlife as she fixes the ballerina statue as they all made a pact that when one of them passes they will leave a sign and try to connect with them from the afterlife.

However, by the end of the episode, the audiences see that Kevin (Igby Rigney) plan to spend the rest of their life together as they are terminally ill and they have one shot at love and they complete the midnight club's incomplete stories as they don't have much time left. On the other hand, Dr Stanton is lastly identified as just not a regular caring doctor at the hospice but is the daughter of Regina Ballard, who used to be known as Athena, and the house belonged to an old aged couple, Oscar Stanley Freelan and Vera Freelan whose ghosts were wander the halls of the hospice.

'The Midnight Club' is currently streaming on Netflix.
