‘Shame on you’: Fans express outrage as 'The Masked Singer' eliminates Beets mask instead of Gumball

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: After the elimination of the Beets mask, which was later revealed to be 'American Idol' alums Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard, fans of 'The Masked Singer' were outraged.

Even before the unmasking, viewers had been deeply invested in their performances, enjoying their renditions each week. However, upon learning that the duo singers were behind the Beets mask, fans were even more upset with their elimination.

Fans were disappointed and frustrated, feeling that Gumball should have been sent home instead of the Beets. The unexpected elimination of Aiken and Studdard left them disheartened, as they had been rooting for the talented singers to go further in the competition.

The revelation of Aiken and Studdard's identities added more attachment to fans, making their elimination even more difficult to accept. On X, a fan wrote, "You four sent the Beets home, shame on you." "Beets sounded way better than gumball," added another fan. "The Beets were robbed. I said what I said. They should have advanced," wrote one. Another fan said, "Again . . . . . The judges are WRONG about the Beets!"  

One fan wrote, "No offense to Gumball but how did he go through over the Beets?!?!" "I feel like the beets got robbed," noted another fan. "Disappointing tbh. Gumball was amazing but Beets were even better. I thought they might win the whole thing," added one. 

Who was under the Seal mask?

During the Wednesday night show, a double elimination shook up 'The Masked Singer' competition. The Beets mask was the first to be eliminated and unmasked, followed by the unmasking of the Seal mask, which was the last wildcard of the season. Corey Feldman, the iconic Hollywood actor known for his roles in movies like "The Lost Boys," "The Goonies," and "Stand by Me," was revealed as Seal during the unmasking.

Host Nick Cannon enthusiastically announced, "The legend is in the building," to the audience. On "Soundtrack Of My Life Night," contestants took the stage to perform songs with significant personal meaning. The emotional performances included renditions of songs like "One Moment In Time," "It’s Tricky," and "Carry On Wayward Son." Unfortunately, the night ended with the competition bidding farewell to two more celebrities: Seal and The Beets.

Gumball is one of the mysterious masked singers on 'The Masked Singer; Season 11, and fans have been busy speculating about the identity behind the mask. Many viewers have been piecing together clues and making guesses, with speculation leaning towards actor Skylar Astin.

After the episode teaser was released, featuring Gumball's captivating rendition of Kelly Clarkson's "Heartbeat Song," fans quickly connected the dots and began speculating that Skylar Astin could be the voice behind the mask.

The judges also reacted to Gumball's vocals, with Jenny McCarthy saying, "I've got the chills." Ken Jeong added, "He's got a boy band vibe," while Rita Ora, the newest addition to the panel, also shared her thoughts. Although Gumball seems to be a frontrunner in the competition, it's unlikely that the mask will be unmasked anytime soon. 

The new episodes of 'The Masked Singer' Season 11 are released every Wednesday at 8 pm ET on FOX.
