'The Masked Dancer': Release date, plot, host, judges and all you need to know about celeb dance show on Fox

The popularity of the show has paved the way for another competitive series, 'The Masked Dancer', wherein masked celebrities will show off their best dance moves, dressed head to toe in elaborate costumes. Release date
'The Masked Dancer' was announced earlier on Wednesday, October 28, hours before 'The Masked Singer' Group C playoff episode. Plot
Since this show is a spinoff of the Emmy-winning series, 'The Masked Singer', the premise of the new show will be similar to it. Inspired by a segment on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show', the participating celebrities will be dressed head to toe in campy outfits as they shake a leg on the floor. A clue package featuring subtle hints about their identity would play before/after their performance so that the judges, as well as the audiences at home, could guess who's under the masks. 'The Masked Dancer' contestants have "38 million albums sold worldwide, 20 Emmy Award wins, 20 Grammy Award nominations, 10 World Dancing titles, five New York Times Best-Selling Author titles, four Olympic gold medals, and three Broadway show appearances," according to Fox.

Famous for playing Doug Judy aka The Pontiac Bandit on 'Brooklyn 99', Robinson is a fan favorite, and news about him hosting 'The Masked Dancer' has triggered a lot of frenzy amongst audiences. His other roles include Darryl on 'The Office' and some of his movie credits include 'Dolemite Is My Name', 'Morris From America', 'This Is The End' and the 'Hot Tub Time Machine' movie franchise. He also hosted 'Last Comic Standing' Season 7 for NBC in 2010.
Judges
Singer-dancer Paula Abdul, movie star Ashley Tisdale, 'The Masked Singer' veteran judge Dr Ken Jeong and eliminated contestant of 'The Masked Singer' Season 4 Brian Austin Green, who disguised as a giraffe, will be seen judging the show.
Creators
'The Masked Dancer' is produced by Fox Alternative Entertainment and Warner Bros Unscripted & Alternative Television and is based on the South Korean format, 'The Masked Singer', created by Mun Hwa Broadcasting Corp. James Breen, Craig Plestis, Dan Martin and Ellen DeGeneres are the executive producers of the series. Breen will serve as the showrunner.
