Spoilers for 'The Haves And The Have Nots' Season 8 Premiere: 'The Long Game'

The eighth season premiere of 'The Haves And The Have Nots' may have begun with David Harrington (Peter Parros) fielding a rape accusation after he slept with Alissa (Crystal-Lee Naomi) who had her own plans of revenge, but by the time the episode ended, David was going in another direction.

Longtime viewers of the Tyler Perry soap opera might know that speculations of David being in love with Hanna Young (Crystal Fox) are not new. In fact, his ex-wife, Veronica Harrington (Angela Robinson) even dreamt of them in bed together, with David telling Hanna that he loves her in the previous season. Fans were, in fact, surprised and wondered whether David and Hanna had a past that we do not know about.

The answers might come sooner than later. In the Season 8 premiere of 'The Haves And The Have Nots', we finally see David going to Hanna. The problem is, given the way that David was speaking (that he wants to "know" [her] intimately), viewers are confused whether David is actually shooting his shot or if it is yet another dream sequence.

A fan tweeted, "That man really wants to see Hanna. He’s putting in the effort any way possible to try to take her out on a date. #HAHN." Another opined, "What did I just see?!! Either David or Hanna’s dreaming bc that scene can’t be real. #HAHN." Another viewer remarked, "What in the David need to get laid cuz he coming on to Hanna which got to be n somebody's dream hell is going on here? #HAHN."

However, not everyone is enthusiastic about this potential pairing. Fans are worried that David has ulterior motives given that Hanna has the power of attorney over Kathryn Cryer's (Renee Lawless) estate as the latter is in jail. One fan simply tweeted, "Hanna don’t trust David #HAHN." Another said, "I just know David isn’t going to try to “work” Hanna for control over Katheryn’s estate. That isn’t going to work #HAHN."

Given that David seemed to have learned a few lessons from Veronica seeing how he dealt with Alissa, we don't trust David much either. Hanna has quite a lot on her plate, so let's just hope she gets through whatever David has planned for her.

'The Haves And The Have Nots' airs on Oprah Winfrey Network on Tuesday nights at 8/7c.
