'The Good Place' Season 4 Episode 2: Is Chidi capable of change without Eleanor by his side?

For three seasons, the NBC show has asked if human beings are capable of doing good without any incentive? Now we will see some human test subjects answering this question for us.

'The Good Place' is answering one of the questions humanity has asked for thousands of years - are human beings capable of doing good without any incentive? For three seasons, the NBC show made us revisit our existentialism with various morals and ideals, and now we see some human test subjects answering this question for us.

As we know, the Judge (Maya Rudolph) has agreed to change the point system that decides which humans go to the Good Place and which to the Bad Place, if Michael (Ted Danson) and the gang are able to prove that the point system is warped. The best way for them to prove it was to create a fake Good Place - again - and get four new humans to live there, and challenge them with their own notions of good and bad, hoping that they would want to do better when the parameters of Earth are removed.

Shawn (Marc Evan Jackson) and other demons chose the human test subjects, and tried to sneak one of their own as a human, and when they were found, the Judge decided that it would only be fair to let Chidi (William Jackson Harper) - whose memory is already erased - to become one of the subjects. We know that he is capable of goodness, and every time Michael tried to trap him in the fake Good Place, he has done better. This makes team humans, especially Eleanor (Kristen Bell), extremely happy.

However, we wonder if it is really good news for team humans because as we know, every time that he did better he was trying to make Eleanor a better person. Even Michael has admitted that the foursome always figured his malicious plan out when they get together. Even when a reformed Michael sent everyone back on Earth, he had to nudge Eleanor to travel all the way across to Australia so that she and Chidi could meet, for them to be better humans together.

This time around, however, Chidi has no memory of his past with Eleanor, and seeing that in his eyes she is a celestial being, he will not act up on his attraction for her, can he still increase his points and get into the Good Place?

Season 4 Episode 2 of 'The Good Place' which airs on Friday, October 4, will potentially answer this question. So don't forget to tune in to NBC.
