'The Equalizer' Full Cast List: Meet Queen Latifah, Chris Noth and rest of the actors of CBS reboot of crime drama
'The Equalizer' reboot starring Queen Latifah is all set to premiere on February 7 after Super Bowl. The show, which is a crime drama, will see a former CIA official take on the role of seeking justice by herself. She is joined by two of her former colleagues in fighting crime and each episode will see Latifah play the vigilante who is sick of all the time she had served the government blindly without understanding the cause and effect to the people who make the country. Queen Latifah as Robyn McCall
Queen Latifah plays the titular role in the show. Latifah is an Academy Award-nominated and Golden Globe Award-winning actress, Grammy Award-winning recording artist, Emmy Award-winning producer, label president, author, and entrepreneur. Her work in 'Chicago', 'Life Support' and tv movie 'Bessie' (also produced by her), got her the awards. Her other popular works include 'Girls Trip', 'Hairspray', 'Taxi', 'Set it Off', 'Last Holiday', 'Barber Shop 2: Back in Business', and of course, voicing Ellie in the 'Ice Age' series.
Speaking of playing this part, Latifah said, "Seeing those things in front of you and then having a role offered to you that almost mirrors what your life is like and what made you who you are, it was a no-brainer," and also added, "Maybe I said yes a little too soon because I don't have the same knees I did when I was 25. But my heart is in the right place."
Tory Kittles as Detective Marcus Dante
Actor Tory Kittles plays the role of Detective Marcus Dante in the show. Some of the shows that Kittles is well known for includes 'True Detective', in which he played the role of Thomas Papania opposite Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey, Carlton Cuse’s 'Colony', with Josh Holloway, and Kurt Sutter’s 'Sons of Anarchy'. His first work on the big screen was 'Tigerland', opposite Colin Farrell. He then went on to play Frederick Douglass in Kasi Lemmons’ 'Harriet'; followed by Antoine Fuqua’s 'Olympus Has Fallen'. He also worked with Spike Lee in 'Miracle at St. Anna', and alongside Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson in 'Get Rich or Die Tryin’.
Adam Goldberg as Harry Keshegian
Actor Adam Goldberg plays the role of Robyn's tech guy Harry Keshegian, who used to be a white-hat hacker and is hence aware of actual dirt that spins all the controversies. Goldberg is an actor, director, producer and musician. He is well-known for his roles in feature films 'Dazed and Confused', 'A Beautiful Mind', 'Saving Private Ryan', 'The Hebrew Hammer', 'Deja Vu', '2 Days in Paris' and 'Zodiac'. On television, other than his memorable recurring characters in 'Fargo', and 'God Friended Me', he is also well-known for 'Taken', 'The Jim Gaffigan Show', 'The Unusuals and The Street'.
Liza Lapira as Melody 'Mel' Bayani
Liza Lapira plays Melody 'Mel' Bayani, the third part of Robyn's three-member team. Bayani knows Robyn from when she was a shart shooter in the Airforce. Lapira was last seen in Myriad Pictures' feature film 'Modern Persuasion' which had premiered at the 2020 Cannes Virtual Market. She will next be seen in the indie film 'The Fabulous Filipino Brothers'. Her most recent work on television were 'Nancy Drew' and 'Unbelievable'.
Chris Noth as William Bishop
Chris Noth will be seen playing the role of former CIA Director William Bishop in the show. Noth is a Golden Globe and SAG Award-nominated actor who rose to prominence playing Detective Mike Logan for five seasons on the original 'Law & Order'. He also played the role of Mr Big in 'Sex and the City' and is known for playing the role of Peter Florrick on 'The Good Wife'. His most recent credits include 'Lovelace', 'Elsa & Fred', 'Frankie Go Boom', 'My One and Only', 'Mr. 3000' among others.
Other members of the cast include Laya DeLeon Hayes as Delilah and Lorraine Toussaint as Aunt Vi.
