'The Equalizer' reboot is from the same franchise as the 2014 film, 2018 sequel, and the television series of the same name. The show is created and executive produced by Richard Lindheim, with Michael Sloan, and Queen Latifah who also stars in the show. The other executive producers include John Davis, John Fox, Debra Martin Chase, Andrew Marlowe and Terri Miller. 

Release date: 

'The Equalizer' releases on February 7 and will air at 10 pm EST on CBS All Access. 

Plot: 

Robyn McCall, an enigmatic woman with a mysterious background, uses her extensive skills to help those with nowhere else to turn. McCall comes across to most as an average single mom who is quietly raising her teenage daughter. But to a trusted few, she is "The Equalizer" -- an anonymous guardian angel and defender of the downtrodden, who's also dogged in her pursuit of personal redemption.

Cast:

Queen Latifah will be playing the lead role as 'The Equalizer' in the show. Her character's name is Robyn McCall and she is a divorced single mother who is out for vengeance while also seeking justice as a vigilante. Through the show, she will carry out her own vendettas as well. This role was originally portrayed by Edward Woodward in the series and by Denzel Washington in the movie franchise.

Chris Noth as William Bishop

Actor Chris Noth will play the role of William Bishop who is a former CIA director. The action drama is set within the world of crime-solving, spies, and underhanded criminals. 

Tory Kittles as Marcus Dante

Actor Tory Kittles will play the role of Marcus Dante in the show. He is an intelligent and shrewd NYPD detective. 

Lorraine Toussaint as Frieda "Aunt Fry" Lascombe

Lorraine Toussaint plays the role of Freida Lascombe in the show and she goes by the nickname Aunt Fry. She is none other than Robyn's wise and truthful aunt, who lives with Robyn and her daughter Delilah.

Liza Lapira as Melody Chu

Actor Liza Lapira will play the role of Melody Chu, who happens to be a former Air Force sniper and a bar owner at the moment. She was Robyn's colleague and that connects her to Robyn's circle. 

Adam Goldberg as Harry Keshegian

Actor Goldberg will play Harry Keshegian who is not a stereotypical tech dude. Unlike the many conspiracy theorists out there, he knows what true conspiracies are having been a white-hat hacker before. He is gruffly endearing, lovably annoying, eccentric and a collector of facts and artifacts, he’s paranoid — but for a reason, according to CBS. 

Creator:

The show is created by Andrew W. Marlowe and Terri Edda Miller. Marlowe is well known as the writer of television shows 'Castle', 'Viper', 'Take Two'. He also wrote the films 'Air Force One' and 'End of Days'. 

Trailer: 

The trailer of the show introduces Queen Latifah as a vigilante who teams up with two of her former colleagues to seek justice and at times, even vengeance. As a highly qualified agent in the CIA, she worked with the best but a month before, she has quit her job. However, the CIA doesn't seem too happy because they send a former CIA Director to lure her back to take up her old spot.
