'The Curse Of Oak Island' Season 8 Episode 4 Review: Are Laginas wasting time on Knights Templar-Menorah theory?

The Laginas have been looking for evidence for years regarding activity of the Knights Templar — and when we say looking for evidence, they've found hope in the strangest of theories

Yes, we're back with the Knights Templar theories. We were missing those wild theories in Season 8, but they're back with a wild bang. The Laginas have been looking for evidence for years regarding activity of the Knights Templar — and when we say looking for evidence, they've found hope in the strangest of theories that the Medieval Christian Sect had buried treasure on the island. Last season, their fellow historians had told them that there was a geometric figure in Nicolas Poussin's paintings, which could lead to the buried treasure. This geometric figure was nothing less than a treasure map. And now, in Season 8, we're back with more fuel about that theory.

In Episode 4, the team finds a "perfect line" that starts from Jerusalem, that leads through Versaille, and ends at Oak Island. Could this be the origins of the Oak Island mystery? They're sure that the Knights Templar dug up Solomon treasure that consisted of Menorah, that *could* have been taken to North America for safekeeping. The Menorah could have been buried at Oak Island. However, nothing is easy and there's a intricate method of digging up Oak Island. It consists of three concentric circles...and halves...basically a lot of mathematics, which could make your head whirl.

So hats off to Laginas and the Fellowship, because they straight away pick up their axes to go and dig up the island. Of course...they don't find much, except for mound of rocks, because let's face it, they've been seeing only ditch water and rocks for the past few seasons. That's never stopped them from stopping investigating, so they continue to dig up the co-ordinates. On the other hand, Gary Drayton and Jack Begley find axes, and they are sure that these implements are a couple of centuries old. It's a shame we didn't continue on the Oxen foot trail because that was actually more fun. We still need to know if the oxes were used to offload treasure!

It was another episode of bizarre theories, but well, if you take that away, what else can the Oak Island offer us?

'The Curse Of Oak Island' airs on History Channel, Tuesdays, at 9 pm.
