'The Curse Of Oak Island' Season 8 Episode 11: Is Serpent Mound 'spoils' from Money Pit? Fans call it 'a latrine'
Get your popcorn fellows, we might have just found something on 'The Curse Of Oak Island'. Remember the 'Serpent Mound' the Fellowship have been talking about for ages? It turns out, that it might just be filled with 'spoils' from the Money Pit. Yes, this season we might have come closer to finding gold on the mysterious island. At the premiere, their diver found something looking suspiciously like gold, that fell through his fingers. And now, in the latest episode, Gary seemed to have found gold....but it's something with just gold paint. Sorry to burst your bubble, Gary.
Never mind, we're back to the serpent mound and a whole new theory has emerged this season. If we didn't mention before, this season is a treasure trove of bizarre theories. Fans have a lot to say about the new 'spoils' in the mound. "I actually find it more interesting as NOT a serpent mound. The serpent mounds we have in Ohio are connected to Native American burial grounds. I’m just glad they weren’t digging up someone’s resting place. #OakIslandCursers #CurseofOakIsland," one fan tweeted. "What if the supposed serpent mound was actually a latrine? Keep digging, guys! #oa," another wrote. "It can't just be a spoils pile, it was placed there on purpose to mislead people?? #OakIslandCursers #CurseOfOakIsland," another asked. " You guys have been digging for several weeks at an old landfill site," one asked.

A while ago, the team was sure that the mound was connected to the Knights Templar. For the past few episodes, the team has been trying to decipher the link between the sea and the swamp and the mysterious roadway. Could the roadway have been used by seafarers to unload treasure? Or, was it intended for something else? The team has tried exploring, but were met with little or no success. Alex Lagina did try diving into the murky depths but due to poor visibility, he could not find anything. They even tried working on Erin Helton's understanding of Zena Halpern's ancient map. Erin had a curious understanding of her map, which pointed to the existence of several 'boulders', as well as the fact that they've been digging in the wrong Money Pit area for a while now. She provided them the coordinates and said that using these, they should be able to find a tunnel. However, they were not able to do so and regretfully asked her to make a re-assessment of the situation again.
'The Curse Of Oak Island' airs on History Channel, Tuesdays at 9 pm.
