'The Courtship': Who is Danny Kim? Former USAF Cap has own show 'ABCs of Attraction'
On NBC's latest reality show, 'The Courtship', one of the many suitors who will be competing for the lead, Nicole Remy's attention, is Danny Kim, called "Captain Kim" on the show.
Native to New Jersey and son to Korean immigrants, Kim from the reality dating show is a proud graduate of the US Air Force Academy and retired honorably with the rank of Captain. After stepping down from USAF, he took up a different career path as both a motivational speaker and lifestyle coach.

Kim was inspired to start his own venture of being a confidence coach after watching the 2005 movie, 'Hitch', starring Will Smith. Kim worked on and began his own show called 'ABCs of Attraction'. He is pretty active on Instagram and takes to the platform to frequently post short motivational videos. You'll see a glimpse of his five cents on relationships, some of which include moving on from past relationships, and building chemistry. He also shares his views on the difference between expectations and reality, as well as the idea of values.
In addition, Kim is regular in posting personal transformation photos on the gram as well and seems to be a fan of the modeling game.
Through several of his posts, the retired Captain talks about his tough life; from being bullied growing up as an Asian kid to making a name for himself.
He also spoke about being the only suitor of Asian heritage, in an interview with Allkpop. Kim said, "Being the only Asian guy, I felt that it was a great opportunity for me to show how Asian men can be sexy and awesome...In western media and especially in dating shows, there are not a lot of Asians, if any, casted. Usually, they will be eliminated in the first round or get zero air time...I felt like it was a privilege to show that when an Asian man falls for a woman, he will do everything to go for the woman he desires".
In addition, Kim has some great sources of inspiration to look back at. His mother still has the letters her husband would write to her from America after he left Korea. This in itself is a strong foundation of dating in Korean culture.
'The Courtship' premieres on March 6, 2022, on NBC.
