After teasing fans for weeks, the network finally announced the cast list of the hit show, and dare we say the showrunners did a pretty good job. The celebrities who will be taking the leap to stay cooped inside a house with no access to the outside world for three whole weeks include Taylor Swift's best friend Todrick Hall, Khloe Kardashian's ex-husband Lamar Odom, Travis Barker's ex-wife Shanna Moakler, former 'RHOA' star Cynthia Bailey, etc. But the one cast member that really caught our attention was former 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' star Teddi Mellencamp. Who is Teddi Mellencamp?

Much before becoming a household name as the star of Bravo's 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills', Teddi enjoyed the spotlight as the daughter of famous rockstar John Mellencamp. Teddi was born in Bloomington, Indiana, and raised in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. She dabbled in competitive Equestrian when she was younger. At the age of 17, with big dreams of becoming an actress, Teddi moved to Los Angeles. She worked in the mailroom at CAA and UTA while pursuing an acting career.

In 2011, Teddi married her husband Edwin Arroyave, CEO and founder of Skyline Security Management, Inc. The couple has three children together- daughters Slate and Dove and son Cruz; she is also stepmother to Isabella, Edwin’s daughter from a previous relationship. Aside from her reality tv career, Teddi is also a lifestyle and wellness coach, who launched her business 'ALL IN by Teddi' to help people lose weight and get fit. The multi-million dollar has of late come under harsh public criticism after several clients took to social media accusing Teddi and her business of some unethical practices including allegations of being limited to waiting just 700 calories per day, doing an hour of cardio daily, and having a cup of only soup for dinner.

Teddi Mellencamp's controversial lifestyle & fitness brand

Teddi, who refers to herself as an "accountability coach", launched her business 'All In by Teddi' after losing 80 pounds after giving birth to her son Cruz. Her business offers diet programs, meal plans cardio time minimums to clients, who send her photos of their weight on the scale, their meals, and engage in body checking with her depending on what level of her program they’re on.

Her 2-week Jumpstart program that costs $599 a month states, “Once you have mastered the lifestyle and are well on your way to achieving your goal, we offer a Weight and Workout plan. Additionally, we have our graduate Maintenance plan once you reach your goal. Under both plans, you will send in your proof of weight and cardio each day. The weight and workout plan is designed to give you more flexibility, while still receiving inspirational guidance and assistance from your coach. Maintenance is for graduates who have achieved their goals and embody this new lifestyle fully but want that extra touch of accountability.”

According to a report in The Thought Catalog, it comprises “two weeks of a 500 calorie a day vegetarian meal plan, an hour of cardio 7 days a week, and texting Teddi or one of Teddi’s staff photos of your food, weight, and body.” It is worth noting that the brand’s website says, “Our coaches do not carry any fitness, medical or health certifications. Each coach has completed the accountability program and lives this lifestyle. We are here to hold you accountable to your own fitness, health, and wellness goals; our coaches provide you with personal one-on-one support, guidance, and tools to help you achieve those goals.”

An anonymous former client of the program revealed to the outlet about how the participants of the program are taught to "starve" themselves. The client said, "Did Teddi’s all in program for 2 weeks (jumpstart). It was the most horrible thing I’ve ever done. I was maybe consuming like 500 calories a day and that is generous, it was probably more like 450. They don’t teach you how to live healthier. They teach you how to starve yourself.”

Teddi responded to these allegations by posting a video on her Instagram claiming she's 'incredibly proud' for helping over 15,000 clients. She said, "For one, I wanted to say I love All In. I am so incredibly proud of the over 15,000 lives we have helped change. I 100 percent feel confident in the fact that we let you know before signing up exactly what the program entails. If it’s something that you want to do and you want us to hold you accountable to your goals, we are there to do that for you. If it’s not something you want to sign up for, you don’t. That’s why I love that we are very transparent from the beginning.”

'Celebrity Big Brother' Season 3 is set to premiere on February 2, 2022, on CBS.
