MTV’s hit unscripted series 'The Challenge' has been renewed for another season. News of the renewal came days ahead of the season finale of the ongoing installment of the series that is about to air on July 16.  The ViacomCBS cable network has picked up the long-running athletic competition series for a record 36th season. Plot 

The current season of unscripted competition series sees series veterans battle with new recruits from other reality TV franchises like 'Big Brother', 'The Amazing Race', 'Party Down South', 'Survivor' and more. Contestants have to sustain their position through difficult challenges, outrageous stunts and then face harsh eliminations. Each season of the series has a different theme and the network is yet to reveal the one they'd follow for the upcoming season. Bookmark this article and circle back in a few days for fresh updates.

Host

TJ Lavin

According to Torque, TJ is responsible for having set the standard for competitive BMX riders around the world. Born and raised in Las Vegas Nevada TJ learned to ride at 5 years old and raced BMX until he was 15. Making a transition into dirt jumping TJ went pro and took the sport to another level. He has been a DK Dirt Circuit Champ, a champion in the Gravity Games, a European championship winner, and a CFB Champion. In 1995, he was crowned the much-deserved title King of Dirt. After winning just about every possible BMX Competition TJ had a horrific accident during 2010's Dew Tour Championship. With multiple injuries, he was placed in a medically induced coma for two weeks but made a phenomenal recovery after which he became the host of 'The Challenge' in 2005 and continues to hold the position to date. 

Creators

The Challenge was created for MTV by Bunim/Murray Productions. Gil Goldschein, Julie Pizzi, Scott Freeman, Justin Booth, and Emer Harkin serve as Executive Producers, and Danny Wascou and Jeff Schmidt serve as Co-Executive Producers. Dan Caster serves as Executive Producer with Leanne Mucci as Co-Executive Producer for MTV.
