LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Hello, 'The Boys' fans. We have some exciting news for you! The first trailer of ‘The Boys’ spin-off ‘Gen V’ has dropped. The trailer showcases a new generation of 'The Boys' fighting for a piece of the pie with some veterans also returning. A trailer was released on Saturday, December 3, 2022, during CCXP which doesn’t reveal much about the plot but does give a peak at the cast which is led by Netflix's 'The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina's Jaz Sinclair.

Nevertheless, the concept of the series is a very precise college show that meets 'Game of Thrones' or the 'The Hunger Games'. The competitive and hormonal students of Vought International's Godolkin University, America's only higher education destination dedicated to molding the minds of young-adult supes, are forced to compete against each other to score coveted contracts to patrol the country's top cities as official superheroes. Back in July 2022, the official title of the spinoff was revealed as 'Gen V' with the show's cast introducing themselves to fans of 'The Boys' in a video. However, readers, there is something even more exciting as we learned that 'Gen V' is set concurrently with the third season of 'The Boys' which is expected to premiere on Amazon Prime Video in 2023.

At the beginning of the trailer, a voice says, "Welcome to Goldolkin University. It's a safe space for you to thrive," as the camera conveniently pans over the word "murderer" spray-painted across a door in the consecrated halls of supe academia. However, by the end of the teaser trailer, Marie is asked, "Where did you find that kind of courage?" during an on-camera interview. "I'm superhuman, right? We're made of steel," she replies. Is that a dig at 'Superman' or Superman knock-off Homelander? Well, who knows!

'Gen V' stars Lizzie Broadway as Emma Shaw and Jaz Sinclair as Marie Moreau, while the show's other cast members include Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, Shelley Conn, Asa Germann, Derek Luh, Chance Perdomo, Maddi Phillips, Marco Pigossi and London Thor.

The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television Studios and Amazon Studios in association with Kripke Enterprises, Point Grey Pictures, and Original Film. Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters serve as showrunners and executive producers. Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H Moritz, Ori Marmur, Pavun Shetty, Ken Levin, Jason Netter, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, Craig Rosenberg, Zak Schwartz, Erica Rosbe, and Michaela Starr also serve as executive producers. Serving as a co-executive producer is Brant Engelstein, while Loreli Alanis serves as the executive in charge of Point Grey Pictures.

As we mentioned earlier, 'Gen V' is set to release sometime in 2023. No official release date has been revealed at this time.
