LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'The Boys' Season 4 just dropped its latest episode on Thursday, July 11 on Prime Video, and Ashley Barrett (Colby Minifie) is in some deep trouble. Despite A-Train's departure from Vought in Episode 7, Ashley surprisingly chooses to remain with the company.

Their betrayal of Vought has been a central storyline this season, culminating in A-Train's exit. However, Ashley's decision to stay hints at more twists in her character arc.

'The Boys' Season 4 has arrived, continuing Amazon Prime Video's acclaimed superhero series. It picks up immediately after Season 3, with the team battling Victoria Neuman's bid for Vice President while Butcher plots against Homelander.

A-Train's revelation about Homelander and Sister Sage planning an insurrection raises the stakes dramatically for the team.

Why does Ashley decide to stay at Vought?

After A-Train realizes Homelander and Sister Sage know he leaked information from Vought, he plans to escape. Before leaving, he offers to help Ashley, who knows about his betrayal but keeps quiet to protect herself from The Seven. However, Ashley refuses his offer to leave Vought.

Ashley tells A-Train she doubts they can escape Homelander's reach, as he can fly anywhere they might run. Fearing for her safety, Ashley decides to stay at Vought in 'The Boys' Season 4, hoping her loyalty will spare her from Homelander's wrath.

She lets A-Train leave alone, believing it's her best chance to survive under Homelander's rule and running away means immediate death.

Is Ashley guilty over Cameron Coleman's death?

Ashley's decision to remain at Vought isn't purely based on logic; she also carries a heavy burden of guilt. When she and A-Train discover he's the leak, they falsely blame Cameron Coleman, telling The Seven he's the traitor.

To their shock, Homelander orders his super-powered soldiers to kill Cameron, leading to his death because of Ashley and A-Train's deception.

Even though Ashley framed Cameron, she feels immense remorse over his death and doesn't believe she deserves forgiveness. Ashley and Cameron had shared an intimate relationship before the events of 'The Boys' Season 4.

Now that he's gone, Ashley's self-loathing prevents her from accepting A-Train's offer to help her escape.
