'The Blacklist' Season 7 Episode 6: We will be seeing more of the new fan-favorite Francesca, but is Red really dying?
'The Blacklist' gave us a peek into the work of a despicable man called 'Norman Devane' in the previously aired Season 7 Episode 5, and while he was defeated and his latest victim saved, one very disturbing truth also came out with the episode. Towards the end of the episode, Red (James Spader) reveals that a treatment he was receiving from the brilliant doctor at his disposal did not take, but we are yet to learn what the treatment is for.
Our best guess is that Red has been diagnosed with a terminal disease, we have a gut feeling that they may actually go through with killing him off on the show. It was incredibly difficult to watch Red, a seemingly invincible man look as vulnerable and desperate as he did at that moment. He is hiding it from Liz (Megan Boone) as expected, but fans are incredibly irritated with utter lack of profiling skills anyway, so hopefully Red and Dembe (Hisham Tawfiq) will find a solution on their own.
Meanwhile, Red is also busy with another work, which is chasing after Katarina (Laila Robins) before she does more damage than she already has. It is incredibly ironic that Katarina is actually right under their noses, and they are yet to identify her - especially Liz. Red did receive some update that would help him track her down though, at least it would help him understand what she is after. He has the name or, at least an alias of the Stranger. Before he died, Norman told Red that Katarina cares for someone named Frank Bloom and that she is trying to save him.
It seems like he will be chasing after this lead in the upcoming 'Dr. Lewis Powell', and will employ the help of Francesca (Natalie Paul). Since her debut in the premiere of this season, fans have fallen in love with her character and the showrunners are clearly paying attention. The official synopsis for the upcoming episode suggests, "Francesca Campbell further entangles herself in Red's criminal activities," and we are quite happy with this information.
Season 7 Episode 6 of 'The Blacklist', titled 'Dr. Lewis Powell' will be aired by NBC on Friday, November 8.
