‘The Bear’ secures Best Comedy Series prize at 2023 WGA Awards, Fans say 'not a comedy but huge win'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Before 'Cocaine Bear' came onto the scene, viewers witnessed the amazing tv series created by Christopher Storer, 'The Bear'. It is no secret that 'The Bear' has been nominated for various other honors at different award shows like Critics' Choice Television Awards, Golden Globe Awards, and lastly, the most recent Screen Actors Guild Awards. The series stars Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ayo Edebiri, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colon-Zayas, and Abby Elliott.

Speaking of the cast, White won Best Actor in a Comedy Series at the Critics' Choice Television Awards, Golden Globe Awards, and Screen Actors Guild Awards. Further, Edebiri was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series at the Critics' Choice Awards, while the series' ensemble cast was nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. In case you have not watched the series yet, it revolves around a young chef from the world of fine dining who comes home to Chicago to run his family's Italian beef sandwich shop after the suicide of his older brother, who left behind debts, a rundown kitchen, and an unruly staff.

According to the official Twitter page of Writers Guild Awards, 'The Bear' just won the Outstanding Comedy Series category. They captioned it, "Make some noise for the writers of @thebearfx for winning Outstanding Comedy Series! #WritersGuildAwards"



 

'Not a comedy, incredible show tho'

Fans are exhilarated although they strongly feel the series is not really "comedy" as they felt incredibly "stressed" while watching the series. A fan said, "Stoked it won but calling it a comedy is crazy. It had funny moments but overall it was not very comical," while another wrote, "Deserved". A fan shared, "Not a comedy but huge W". A fan commented, "this sh*t is not a comedy, but we move," while another added, "Not a comedy, incredible show tho". Last but not the least, a fan noted, "COMEDY? Safe to say, fans approve of this decision strongly. Nevertheless, in July 2022, it was renewed for a second season, which is set to premiere in mid-2023 and consists of 10 episodes.
