'The Bachelorette' 2022: Rachel comes across a bad omen just before meeting Aven's parents
SALEM, MASSACHUSETTS: Rachel Recchia, one of Bachelor Nation's guides on this path to love, has been with us for several weeks. Rachel goes on her final hometown date with Aven before this week's Men-Tell-All episode, which she hopes goes better than her time at Toni's.
The bachelorettes, together with Gabby Windey, modified the rules and changed the rose ceremony protocol for the season. With the participants (largely) divided into groups, Rachel has limited her field of suitors, and Aven Jones appears to be one of her frontrunners. Before Monday's "Men Tell All" special could begin, 'The Bachelorette' had unfinished business from last week's Hometowns, as Rachel still needed to meet one man's family. But, before seeing his parents, she and Aven decided to do something that would bring good fortune to their meeting with his parents, who, according to him, had never approved of his exes.

Rachel flew to Salem, Massachusetts, at the beginning of the episode to meet Aven's parents. Rachel was worried about the night ahead after her less-than-ideal encounter with Tino's family, so the duo spent the day exploring the town. While Aven tried to reassure Rachel that everything would be OK, she was skeptical, especially after learning that his parents, who are no longer together, had not been in the same room for six or seven years. Rachel was worried about more disapproving parents even before she met his parents.
Rachel and Aven went to visit the Love Witch of Salem beforehand in a mysterious shop, hoping for good fortune. They had a spell conducted on their behalf, in which the witch attempted to cast a love spell in their honor; unfortunately, one of the shop's glass tables fell immediately thereafter, which does not appear to be a good omen. Aven tried to lighten the mood by taking Rachel to a magic store, but when the Love Witch's spell ended with her knocking over a table and sending a burning candle on the floor, Rachel was concerned.
But she didn't have to be concerned. Despite Aven's parents' probing questioning, Rachel left the meeting with a grin on her face. Fans, like Rachel, were worried by the table shattering and didn't want to watch Rachel go through another embarrassing meeting with the families. Calling the accident a bad omen, a fan wrote: "Rachel and Aven about to burn this place down. Is that a bad omen?! #TheBachelorette #thebachelorettes." Describing their date, another fan wrote: "Jesse : this dates going to be wierd because it's Salem The "wierd" #bachelorettes #bachelorette #TheBachelorette." Worrying about what was to come at the family meeting, a fan tweeted: "If that's not foreshadowing for what's to come I don't know what is. #TheBachelorette." Adding to that the same fan wrote: "I hope production pays for her fancy table. #TheBachelorette."
