AGUORA HILLS, CALIFORNIA: As the latest season of 'The Bachelorette' comes to a close, fans are eagerly awaiting word on who will be the next star of 'The Bachelor.' Typically, one of the men who do not win Rachel Recchia and Gabby Windey's season is picked - generally, someone who is a fan favorite or has made a significant impact on viewers or producers.

In previous years, spoilers about who the next lead will be were frequently revealed ahead of time. Many fans, for example, knew Clayton Echard would be the lead of 'The Bachelor' Season 26 before his season of 'The Bachelorette,' which was led by Michelle Young, had aired. However, it wasn't until Clayton's season finale aired that viewers learned Rachel and Gabby will co-host 'The Bachelorette' Season 19. This year, especially, there is a great deal of pressure on production to choose a lead that fans will like. Fans of Bachelor Nation were disappointed when Clayton was declared as the lead, owing to his lack of screen time on his season compared to some of the other men who may have been picked. Fans are hoping to see a recognizable face this time.

'The Bachelorette' 2022: Fans want Ethan to be the next Bachelor as he gets eliminated ahead of hometown date

Did Tyler and Rachel know each other prior to 'The Bachelorette' 2022? NJ resident reveals how he landed show

Back in May, the network announced on Instagram that 'The Bachelor' will return after 'The Bachelorette' and 'Bachelor in Paradise' aired. Since 'The Bachelorette' is currently in the middle of its season, viewers will have to wait a little longer for this one. Keeping up with the constant occurrences of Bachelor Nation is a full-time job, so we've tracked down some of the top contenders who may be up for the main Bachelor position — or who fans want to see in the role. Nothing is truly official until the big honchos at ABC give the final approval. Nevertheless, we do know that the network has formally renewed 'The Bachelor' for a new season, so here's hoping your favorite gets cast!!

TYLER NORRIS

Tyler Norris' beachside hometown date with Rachel Recchia on 'The Bachelorette' may have ended in sorrow, but he was able to get past his love for the pilot six months later. Tyler was all-in with Rachel from the start, while some of Rachel's suitors, like Logan Palmer, went for co-Bachelorette Gabby Windey. Tyler has shown his interest in Rachel even before she was selected co-lead of Season 19. Tyler has had time to ponder on his relationship with Rachel since production wrapped up in spring. Though Tyler acknowledged to ExtraTV that the unexpected breakup took him off guard, he has moved on and has no unresolved feelings for Bachelorette Rachel. Following the broadcast, Bachelor Nation swarmed social media with words of support for Tyler, whom many are encouraging producers to make the next 'Bachelor' lead.

Seeing a heartbroken Tyler during his hometown date, a fan tweeted, "Oh my Tyler. U sweet sweet handsome man . You my sir are the real deal. He faught through his heart break to help her feel better about it. Tyler for next bachelor!!! #bachelorette." Calling for the sweet man as the lead, another fan wrote, "Tyler Norris for #bachelor! Bring back the romance, the genuine men, the sweet REAL wears his heart on his sleeve LOVE! #BacheloretteABC #TheBachelor."

Admiring the man's character, a fan commented, "Can Tyler Norris please be the next #bachelor. Not just because that breakup was brutal, but because all the character we want in a Bachelor was exhibited during that breakup. That would be a season worth watching. #bachelorette #BachelorNation #BacheloretteABC #TheBachelorette." Some fans are also demanding for a dual bachelor season with Tyler and Ethan Kang: "Alright if they are gonna do a double bachelor after this season I need it to be Tyler and Ethan. They both deserved so much better. #TheBachelorette #TheBachelorettes."

Nate Mitchell

Nate Mitchell, who competed on 'The Bachelorette' Season 19, is another fan favorite who might be the next lead. Nate, unlike Tyler, competed in Gabby's men's group, finishing sixth. While Nate and Gabby had a great relationship, Gabby rejected him when she realized she was not prepared to be Nate's stepmother. Nate was Gabby's first one-on-one date of the season, and he soon became a fan favorite as a result.

Fans thought Nate was one of the more mature and sincere contestants, especially in the way he treated Gabby. They also thought he was one of the most amusing participants, as seen by his quips about the fish slapping game in Belgium. Nevertheless, multiple women have now accused Nate of cheating on them and lying about being a parent before appearing on the show. Producers were quick to defend Nate, saying that every story has two sides and that readers shouldn't believe everything they read. Many viewers assumed Nate had already been picked to lead 'The Bachelor' Season 27 since he appeared to have gotten that type of cut on the show as well.

Fans feel Nate is more suited for 'The Bachelor' than 'Bachelor in Paradise'. A tweet read, "Please make Nate the next Bachelor and do not make him go on bachelors paradise with them desperados, hes too good for that! Exactly the reason why Rachel should have done this alone... Gabby f*cked up there! #bachelorette #BachelorInParadise #bachelor." Entertainment host and commentator Zachary Reality tweeted, "A lot of people around the bachelor streets are saying they think Nate will be the next lead… #BachelorNation."

Demanding a double bachelor situation similar to the bachelorettes, a fan tweeted, "Petition to make Nate and Tyler the next Bachelors. It’s only fair that we get a double situation for the bachelor and these two guys got it bad #TheBachelorette." Speaking of whether the show will bring in a controversial bachelor, one fan wrote, "Omg yes! I want him for Bachelor so bad or Tyler. I’m such a Nate fan but he just has way too much heat on him rn. I doubt they’ll want a “controversial” bachelor."

ETHAN KANG

Ethan is a fan favorite from Season 19 of 'The Bachelorette,' and fans would love to see him as the next lead on 'The Bachelor.' At the second rose ceremony, Ethan joined Rachel's group of guys and ended fifth in her group. Following his elimination from the show, fans feel that Ethan possesses all the necessary characteristics to be the next male lead. Many viewers thought Ethan was amusing, like when he crawled on the floor to make Rachel laugh or quipped about being lactose intolerant in the world's cheese capital.

Fans, on the other hand, admire Ethan's serious side, for instance when he called Tino Franco out for being upset that Tyler Norris earned the group date rose. Ethan was also seen to be very sensitive and caring with Rachel, always being the first man in the group to soothe her when she became unhappy or began sobbing. Fans also noted that the Bachelor series requires more Asian American visibility, and that making Ethan the first Asian lead of 'The Bachelor' would be a fantastic place to start.

Soon after his elimination, fans took to social media to make it happen. One fan tweeted, "Ethan should be the next bachelor solely for saying “baby back bitch” #TheBachelorette." Demanding an Asian bachelor, a fan wrote, "I never tweet. I am tweeting this in hopes that this gets the support it DESERVES. Give the people what they want, Bachelor producers. Give us an Asian bachelor. GIVE US KING ETHAN. If I see one more bland white man on my screen I swear #TheBachelorette."

Commenting on how Ethan's screentime in the current season shouldn't be an issue, another fan wrote, "If Clayton can be the bachelor after zero screen time and not making top 4, why can't Ethan? #TheBachelorette." However, a fan also pointed out the sad truth of why Ethan may not make it as a lead, writing, "I think Ethan would make an incredible Bachelor but we know that won’t happen bc racism. #TheBachelorette."
