'Temptation Island' Season 4: Fans think 'Lascelles had right message but it came out wrong'

Few shows have a title as self-explanatory as 'Temptation Island.' Here's a quick rundown, just in case you're new to it. 'Temptation Island' is a reality dating show where 4 couples go to an exotic location to put their relationships to the ultimate test. They're separated on arrival and sent to 2 different villas. 12 individuals of the opposite gender are waiting for them in each of these villas and they have one goal. Seduce the visitors. Whether they fall prey to temptation and whether or not the couples choose to remain together by the end form the rest of the show.

Season 4 of 'Temptation Island' has its share of couples with problems and singles looking to stir the pot and things started to get more intense in what came as the fifth episode. Choosing to keep it simple when it comes to titles, Episode 5 of 'Temptation Island' Season 4, titled 'Plot Twist,' began with the Lascelles, Edgar, Luke, and Hania reflecting on the previous bonfire conversation with host Mark L. Walberg.

The seemingly overwhelming conversations are interrupted by the women, who stormed in with their swimsuits on. The mood is instantly elevated with the men taking turns on the slip 'n' slide. Soon after, Madelyn initiated a conversation with Lascelles where the latter seemed more interested in talking about Trace and his pursuit of her. Lascelles, eventually, got out of the pool and openly announced that Trace is the only woman in the villa that he wants to be romantically involved with, rebuffing everybody else. This evoked varied reactions from fans, with some being of the opinion that Lascelles said the right thing in the wrong way. 

"Lascelles had the right message but it came out wrong. #TemptationIsland," a tweet read. Another one on similar lines read, "im happy lascelles said what needed to be said, but it was kinda said in the wrong way #temptationisland". A fan who felt that Lascelles could've handled it a lot better tweeted "Oh no… Lascelles… what are you doing??? That was a very strange way to handle a not super difficult situation. #TemptationIsland," while another came out in support, tweeting "ngl lascelles could’ve worded that better but he was prob sick of the girls all up on him let him breathe #TEMPTATIONISLAND".

"Omg in how many words can Lascelles express that he is only interested in Trace? And he owes nothing to no one, no matter what they think they're owed #TemptationIsland," a fan opined. Another seconded, tweeting "Lascelles may need to be careful now. The girls might do all they can to set him up and test him. They'll just keep pushing him. #TemptationIsland".

However, not everybody took a liking to Lascelles' behavior. "Lascelles is straight up embarrassing himself. Acting a complete fool. #TemptationIsland," a tweet said. "Lascelle is weird af!!!bruh U cuffed Trace in a week i think he is having a hottie overload cant handle the attention #TemptationIsland," another read.

"I don't think Lascelles wants to date, he just wants out of his relationship because he's literally locking himself down to one girl ... which is fine? But not the point I think. #TemptationIsland," opined a fan, while another tweet read "Trace and Lascelle are really boring and annoying. I don't think he ever loved his real girlfriend and just wants an excuse to break up with her. He sees Trace as a way to end it. Past the show they have no future. He's not there to grow at all. #temptationisland". One fan felt that he was just looking for another partner while away from his girlfriend, tweeting "Lacellas left one gf to come be with another one lol #temptationIsland".

While it is still unclear whether Ashley Rodriguez and Lascelles Lagares are officially on a break, the former was motivated by Mark to do things that she held back from doing while Lascelles was around. Lascelles also disclosed that he wanted to "save his current relationship with Trace." What does the future hold for the couple that has been together for 7 years? Tune in next week to find out!
