"Life doesn't end after a divorce": Teen Mom OG star Bristol Palin shares empowering message after Dakota Meyer divorce
The news about Bristol and Dakota's divorce surfaced in February when it was confirmed that Dakota was the one to file for divorce from Bristol after almost two years of marriage
Sarah Palin's daughter and Teen Mom OG star Bristol Palin, has opened up about her life after divorce with some pretty encouraging and empowering words. In a recent interview, she explained how things don't stop because a marriage is over, and tried to show everyone that "life doesn't end" after a divorce.
Taking to 'Good Morning America' on Tuesday, Bristol opened up about everything - from growing up under a famous mom, her three children, her recent divorce from Dakota Meyer, and of course - joining Teen Mom OG. A preview clip from the upcoming season shows Bristol speaking on the same topics, also adding how she might not want to "ever" get married again - a statement she backtracked slightly on her appearance in the actual show.
"Never ever?" GMA host George Stephanopoulos asked. "No, I don't know," Bristol replied. "I don't know, I don't know."
Bristol was also asked why she joined the MTV reality series, and she explained: "I've been a huge fan of the show forever and I've watched these girls' stories, and I just feel like, you know, God gave me a platform and I need to use it. And if there's anything I can relate in my life to someone else out there, then that's what I wanna do."
Flashback to earlier in the summer, Bristol had revealed that she's "freshly divorced" from Dakota, during an Instagram Q&A. The former couple has two children together: daughter, Sailor Grace Meyer - who they welcomed in December 2015, and a second baby girl, Atlee Bay Meyer - born in May 2017. Bristol also has another child - a son, Tripp Johnston-Palin - whom she shares with her ex, Levi Johnson.
Bristol's appearance on Teen Mom was much talked about, and when asked what she considers people take away from her feature on the show, she said: "Honestly, I just think that if I can show—I was recently divorced—that life doesn't end after a divorce, then I hope that people can see that and continue living and continue to chip away at life."
The news about Bristol and Dakota's divorce surfaced back in February when E! News confirmed that Dakota was the one to file for divorce from Bristol after almost two years of marriage. "Dakota filed a petition for divorce on Jan. 29 in Austin, Texas," the outlet reported. And even though they sparked certain reconciliation rumors just months later, they don't seem to have got back together at all.
As for Teen Mom OG, the show returns to MTV on October 1 this year.
