Fans were first shocked and worried when it was reported that Golden Child’s Tag had experienced liver failure, was in critical condition and was admitted to a hospital. However, the K-pop idol’s agency, Woollim, immediately assured fans that it wasn’t as serious but he was indeed unwell and had to get checked up. With Golden Child set to go on their first-ever tour in USA, many were worried.

Well, we finally have an update on Tag on May 23. Woollim shared that Golden Child would be promoting with eight members temporarily since Tag would have to go on hiatus to recover. The label shared that Tag was not feeling well on May 18 and had to go to the hospital for a medical checkup. The Golden Child member indeed had a poor liver condition but after testing and ongoing treatment he has remarkably improved with the label asking fans not to be afraid.

Tag to miss Golden Child’s US tour due to liver condition

However, since Tag is still on the road to recovery, Woollim shared that according to expert medical advice Tag would have to prioritize his health and take time off to recover. And so, the K-pop idol will currently not be participating in any of the group activities. This, unfortunately, also includes Golden Child’s first US tour since its debut in 2017. While fans were disheartened, they sent supportive messages to Tag wishing him to rest and get well soon.

One fan tweeted, “This is heartbreaking. I feel so sad for TAG who is gonna miss out on many activities (i.e. Golcha's first US tour), I feel anxious about his health/condition & really hope that he will be able to fully recover soon, & I'm also devastated that I can't meet him on their US tour…” Another Goldenness commented, “Yall i was so nervous ik its not serious but still, i hope golcha are fine and i hope tag is recovering. he needs to rest.” One fan added, “Sadly tag wont be able to participate on the US tour but it is indeed more important for tag to heal first 🥺 golcha will be proceeding as 8 members and i hope youngtaek gets to rest and heal well for the time being 🫶🏻 get well soon taekie! we’ll wait for you~.”

Another commented, “Goldenness will always wait for you. Take rest and sending lots of love. I can't help but worry for you but IK Golcha and Ness's love will always be there. Please take care.” One Goldenness posted, “Tag, I know u must be feeling devastated because you have wanting to perform live on stage with fans and for idols, having a world tour has always been a dream to come true..but trust me, nothing beats good health! with an improved condition and back to good health, there's more for u to explore and gain in the future! please stay healthy and cheerful!”
