It was one humdinger of an episode as 'Succession' Season 3 finally premiered on HBO last week. Picking up from right where it left off, and shows contrasting approaches from the father-son duo — Logan Roy (Brian Cox) and Kendall (Jeremy Strong). One makes contingency plans, while the other now wants to consolidate on his win. The stations are being filled up, people are choosing sides and what we can expect is an intense battle royale.

And on the topic of people choosing sides, the one question is whether Shiv (Sarah Snook) will join forces with Kendall after her father snubs her for the post of Waystar's CEO. He instead appoints Gerri (J. Smith-Cameron) and the daughter's dismay and rage are clearly seen on her face when the news of Gerri's appointment is leaked.

Will Shiv join Kendall to exact revenge on her father?

One of the theories doing the rounds is if Shiv will change sides and join Kendall to get back at her father. In the final minutes of the episode. Logan and Tom (Matthew Macfadyen) are shown attempting to locate Shiv after they learned the news of Gerri’s promotion was leaked.

Meanwhile, Shiv was seen ordering her driver to reroute the car after she learns of Gerri's CEO appointment from Roman (Kieran Culkin). So, is she paying Kendall a visit and agreeing to work with him to take down their father? This wasn't the first time Shiv was overlooked by Logan as one of the successors. Season 2 saw him dump her after he privately promised her that she would be the next heir, but chose the Pierce family instead.

Titled 'Mass in Time of War' the official synopsis of Episode 2 reads: "Kendall tries to get his siblings, as well as Stewy and Sandi, on his side. Fearing his legal situation, Greg asks Ewan for help." By the looks of it, it appears that Kendall is on a recruiting spree to consolidate his position after landing the first punch. Odds are that Roman will stay with Gerri and Logan, but Shiv? That's the storyline we hope the upcoming episode explores.

'Succession' airs Sundays at 9 pm ET on HBO.
