'Stumptown' Episode 9: Dex sleeps with Liz and there is a new couple born, but can Miles and Grey forgive her?
Since ‘Stumptown’ premiered earlier this year, we have shipped Dex (Cobie Smulders) with both of the male leads, Grey (Jake Johnson) and Miles (Michael Ealy). And now, it seems like there is another major relationship lurking in the corner that we did not see coming – one involving Dex and Grey’s girlfriend Liz (Monica Barbaro), leading us to the conclusion that there is literally no one Dex would not make a great couple with.
In the previously aired Season 1 Episode 8 of the ABC series, we saw that after Grey accused her of being a bad friend, for not even trying to get along with his girlfriend, Dex decided to spend some quality time together with Liz. After a long night of winning hard at cards, however, things took an unexpected turn, with Liz and Dex basically sleeping together. The episode ended with Dex waking up to the realization that she may have broken her friend's trust forever, but it remains to be seen how things develop in the winter finale.
The upcoming Episode 9 of the series, titled 'Dex Education', will see Dex facing the consequence of her actions. It is clear from the trailer for the episode that Dex tries to hide the events of the night from Grey for at least a while, but when Ansel (Cole Sibus) tells him that the women had a "sleepover" at Dex's room he puts two and two together. However, he wants to hear it from the horse's mouth instead of making assumptions, and it is clear that she admits to what happened.
Our guess is that Miles, who was worried about Dex being in love with Grey in the previous episode also decides to call it quits after hearing about Dex's betrayal. We sure hope Dex and Liz at least get a little more time to have fun together before the latter is written off the script. The upcoming Episode 9 of 'Stumptown', titled 'Dex Education', will tell us more about the situation when it airs on Wednesday, December 11.
