The highly anticipated premiere of Cobie Smulders' 'Stumptown' happened on Wednesday, September 25, and it has certainly made a mark with many viewers, who already claim to be hooked on to the show.

Playing a war veteran with PTSD, alcoholism and a gambling problem, Smulders manages to make you forget everything about the Robins and Maria Hills of the past. On 'Stumptown' you only see Dex Parlos who is really, really good at catching bad guys and completing assignments.

The idea of becoming a private investigator was floated to her last episode, and we see that after 10 years of looking for the right job and faltering at the prospect of any financial stability, something falls into place for Dex.

She is ready to be a PI but things are never as simple as that, and in the upcoming episode two of the series, we see her working hard to get her license, the first half of which involves clocking in a few hours of apprenticeship with an established PI.

This is where we meet Artie, played by Donal Logue, who was last seen as Harvey Bullock in Fox's 'Gotham'. He decides to take her offer of getting a cut of all her jobs, and she is on her way to becoming a PI.

Her first assignment happens to be a seemingly simple task of finding a woman that her rich client met recently, but things go south pretty fast. Meanwhile, we also see her take on some office jobs, trying to fit into the corporate world, but it is fairly evident that her skills are best put to use in the outside world.

Despite her own problems, we have seen Dex take on responsibilities because of a sense of responsibility and her still intact soldier instincts to help those in need.

In the trailer for the upcoming episode two, we see Artie telling her that will hold her back in her new career. "Manipulation is your best weapon," he tells her, adding, how she is "incredibly talented," but there is one thing standing in her way: "You care."

Well, we seem to think that this very "problem" is going to be her asset in solving mysteries. Don't forget to watch how Dex proved everyone who thinks the PI job isn't for her wrong when episode two of the series drops on Wednesday, October 2.
