LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Netflix's worldwide phenomenon 'Stranger Things' Season 4 has led the audience through an emotional rollercoaster, with each episode having an iconic moment. But the one that topped the most was the massive climatic finale of the season where, in a shocking turn of events, it is revealed that Henry Creel is the One, the first child to be experimented on by Dr Martin Brenner at Hawkins National Laboratory. In an added twist, it is further revealed that One is Vecna, with psychokinetic powers, killing teenagers around Hawkins.

The fourth season ended with Vecna, executing his meticulous plan to motion and creating a havock in Hawkins, Indiana. However, the cliffhanger of 'Stranger Things' Season 4 has left the audience with several burning questions. By the end of season 4, we see Max (played by Sadie Sink) in a full-body cast and Eleven (played by Millie Bobby Brown) with her powers back. But is Eleven's power enough to stop the mighty Vecna? And how did Vecna, without any allies get all-powerful? Is there any history to it than we actually know? Let's take a look.

Vecna's psychokinetic powers

When we are shown the life of a young Henry, we get a glimpse of the origin of Vecna's supernatural powers. Henry started to get his psychokinetic powers slowly and only after moving into the house at Hawkins. He is drawn to the powers as if he is familiar with them. Henry draws several sketches of spiders and he is seen communicating with spiders as well.

Henry tests the limits of his power by torturing and killing small animals, tormenting the minds of parents and sisters by giving them terrifying visions and nightmares. In a short period of time, Henry's powers grow and he kills his family. Moreover, when Dr Brenner does an experiment on him, he realizes the potential threat and subdues Henry from using his powers. Even with his banishment at Upside Down, rather than being destroyed, his powers grew stronger.

How are Vecna and Eleven related?

Vecna getting the powers at Hawkins is the starting point of the story. It is from Henry that every child at Dr Brenner's facility gets to have their powers, including Eleven. The mother of Eleven, Terry, was induced by LSD during her pregnancy and is also seen left with the remnants of the power as it makes Terry switch channels with her mind. This incident poses the question of whether Henry also unintentionally inherited his powers from his mother or does the Creel house acts as a source of hub for the Upside Down, choosing Henry as the designated master?

Whatever the origin might be, now Vecna and Eleven share the same set of powers and this leaves Vecna in a vulnerable state. The fifth and final season of the Netflix global phenomenon is expected to be released in 2024. And as Vecna is getting ready for a final showdown with Eleven, it would be fitting to learn more about the source of his powers and its link to the Upside Down. Hopefully, we get some answers about the origin of Vecna's powers in the final season.

The four seasons of 'Stranger Things' are currently streaming exclusively on Netflix.
