Netflix 'Stranger Things' Season 4: Who is Joseph Quinn's Eddie Munson?
Contains spoilers for 'Stranger Things' Season 4 Episode 1 'The Hellfire Club'
'Stranger Things' introduces a string of new characters in Season 4, and one of them is Joseph Quinn's, Eddie Munson. Prior to the start of the series, he was introduced as the head of the Hawkins High D&D club, Hellfire. Quinn has quite the CV and was best known for his role in 'Les Misérables' and 'Strike'. With his character taking up a good chunk of screentime in the season opener, it is safe to speculate that Eddie will be a key figure heading deeper into the season.
In addition to heading the D&D club that Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Mike (Finn Wolfhard), and Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) are part of, Eddie also deals drugs on the side. Titled 'The Hellfire Club', the episode also sheds light on his past. One of the scenes in the episode sees him befriend Chrissy (Grace Van Dien), Hawkins High's lead cheerleader, who seems to have a connection with Vecna, the big bad of the season, and is eventually shown to die after he confronts her.

The episode also revealed that Eddie and Chrissy were classmates before their chance reunion at Hawkins High. The former was a guitarist for his band, the Corroded Coffin, while she was fast climbing the ranks of being a high-school cheerleader with her moves and flips. Chrissy suffers from voices in her head (Vecna was shown to be responsible) and looks to Eddie to give her some drugs so she could try and forget the whole "losing the mind" as she puts it. Following the Conference Championship Basketball game that evening, Eddie and Chrissy come back to his house where she hopes that the next drug would take quickly.
However, Vecna interferes and kills her before giving her some gory visions of her parents. She's shown to levitate and slam herself to the ceiling before her bones and face break and contort. She dies as Eddie screams in fear and confusion. With a runtime of well over an hour and 15 minutes, 'Stranger Things' Season 4 doesn't hold back on the horror. Only time will tell if Vecna and Eddie end up having a connection of sorts and how it impacts Hawkins.
'Stranger Things' Season 4 is streaming on Netflix.
