LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Tar' was one of the highly anticipated movies of 2022, which went on to do extraordinary for itself. Recently at the 95th Academy Awards, the psychological drama film was nominated for six awards, including Best Picture and Best Director. For Cate Blanchett's performance, Blanchett won Best Actress at the BAFTAs, Golden Globes, and Critics' Choice Movie Awards. She was also nominated at the Academy Awards and Screen Actors Guild Awards.'Thor: Ragnarok' and 'Oceans 8' actress Cate Blanchett starred as Lydia Tar, a renowned conductor who is accused of sexual misconduct. The supporting cast includes Nina Hoss, Noemie Merlant, Sophie Kauer, Julian Glover, Allan Corduner, and Mark Strong.

Furthermore, Field recently exited the Hulu crime drama series 'Devil in the White City' just days after the departure of star Keanu Reeves. While Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorcese were still on board to produce, Field's departure was likely the final nail in the coffin for the series, which Hulu has since scrapped.

'It’s not for the faint of heart'

Todd Field may be taking a bow alongside Lydia Tar. The “Tar” writer-director revealed that it is “highly likely” that the critically acclaimed film will be his last feature. “There’s a real challenge in making a film of any size. It’s not for the faint of heart,” Field told Cinema Scope. “I wish I was cut out for different stuff because I probably wouldn’t make more films. It takes a great deal out of me to make a film; I don’t know that I’ll ever make another one.” When asked if he will make another feature film, Todd added, “I don’t think so,” continuing that 'Tar' could be his last effort. “Yes, I think so…I didn’t think about it until just now. It’s highly likely,” he stated. Yet it’s “possible” his mind could change later: “I hope it’s possible,” Field said.

'Goat goes out with a bange'

After this news surfaced online although fans were sad but they understood where was Field coming from and appreciated how he is leaving at the "peak" of his career. A fan said, "Not a bad way to go out. Tar had one of the craziest and most wildest twist endings I’ve seen from a movie in a really long time. Cannot recommend it enough. And if you’re a Monster Hunter fan, you’ll enjoy it even more." A fan wrote, "Goat goes out with a banger," while another adds, "Well earned retirement." A fan shared, "Todd Field gave us Big League Chew, playing the piano in Eyes Wide Shut, directed three bangers and even voiced in Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Damn dude, Godspeed." A fan tweeted, "Ending on a good note," while another commented, "I hope he makes few more to be honest. But that's stellar way to go out."
