Cate Blanchett looks regal in a multicolored skirt during 'Tar' premiere at Berlin Film Festival
BERLIN, GERMANY: Cate Blanchett dazzled in a multicolored skirt while attending the premiere of 'Tar' at the Berlin Film Festival on Thursday, February 23. She attended the event alongside many other celebrities, including Nina Hoss and Sophie Kauer. The 53-year-old actress wore her blonde hair in free waves and teamed the ruffled outfit with a black polo neck jumper. The celebrity highlighted her slim form by adding a black belt with an oversized buckle to the ensemble.
Blanchett was beaming as she joined her friends and co-stars to celebrate the movie's success. She had worn the Givenchy ensemble during the 2018 Cannes Film Festival as well. The premiere took place following her speech at the festival earlier.

Cate Blachett considers giving up acting 'daily or weekly'
During the 'Berlinale Talent Talk Grand Orchestra: Conducting Tar' event, the actress stunned in an iridescent purple top and leather pants that highlighted her trim waist. She smiled as she posed alongside her friend and fellow 'Tar' actress Nina Hoss, who appeared equally stylish in a blue striped shirt and a black leather midi skirt.
Director Todd Field, Nina, Cate, cellist and actor Sophie Kauer and composer Hildur Gunadóttir were all present at the discussion to speak about how they all came together to make the acclaimed movie. They spoke about how they were able to bring Lydia Tar, the first female chief conductor of a significant German orchestra, to life in a convincing manner, per the Daily Mail.
Blanchett attended the event with her blonde hair in a side ponytail. The event comes after her earlier admission that she had thought about taking an early retirement after receiving an Oscar nomination for best actress in 'Tar'. She already has two Oscars in her kitty, one for 'The Aviator' and another for 'Blue Jasmine'. "It’s not occasional - it’s continual," she told Vanity Fair in February. She continued that she considered giving up acting "daily or weekly." She said, "It's a love affair, isn't it? So you do fall in and out of love with it, and you have to be seduced back into it."
A physically demanding role
The Melbourne-born actress reportedly said that she had to turn down a lot of projects since wrapping up her performance in 'Tar', which has been nominated for six Oscars, including Best Picture. Because the part was so demanding, she said that it was time to "be quiet."
Blanchett also discussed the subject of retiring on 'The Sunday Project' in January. "I think it was because [Tár] was such a physical role, the echoes of it are still with me and I think I'm like a lot of audience members, I need time to process it," she said.
