Cate Blanchett reveals why 'Tár' director Todd Field blames her agent for car crash
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The 95th Academy Awards are finally here, and it's time to honor incredible works from the previous year at the Dolby Theater. During the red carpet, we caught a glimpse of Oscar-nominated actress Cate Blanchett for her role as the first female leading conductor, the one and only Lydia Tár. Cate has spilled some tea about her movie's director Todd Field and how he crashed his car.
Cate Blanchett has garnered huge praise for her performance in Tár and for her portrayal of Lydia Tár, as she has already won BAFTA's, Screen Actors Guild Awards, and Golden Globe awards. This evening, 'Tár' is up for six Oscar nominations, including two for director Todd Field in the 'Best Achievement in Directing' and 'Best Original Screenplay' categories.

He blames my agent
Cate Blanchett, while being interviewed on the red carpet, was asked about how she was feeling at her 8th nomination for the Oscars to which she said she was nervous and overwhelmed. When asked about Todd Field, the writer and director of 'Tár', she revealed how he blames her agent for getting involved in a car crash. Field had called up Cate's agent for Cate to be in the movie as it . Cate was asked to confirm whether Todd has crashed his car when he thought Cate was not gonna be in the movie. To which Cate replied by confirming that Todd lives in the country and crashed his car while backing it up and now he is blaming his agent for the damage to his car. She further added, however, that Todd is a forgiving soul.
"Yeah, he was backing up because he lives in the country and there was someone behind him and he crashed his Porsche. So now it doesn't work properly and he is blaming my agent." However, Cate further added, "He is a very forgiving soul".
A regular day
Cate, who is attending the function with her daughter, was asked about the preparation for the Oscars, Cate replied that she went swimming with her daughter, She had a bath and it was pretty regular. Cate added, "it was so regular, it's kind of so regular you make it like any other day". She further added, "It's kinda not".
Cate Blanchette is nominated for Actress in a Lead Role for Tár along with nominees Ana de Armas (Blonde), Andrea Riseborough (To Leslie), Michelle Williams (The Fabelmans) and Michelle Yeoh (Everything Everywhere All at Once).
