The latest episode of 'Station 19' opens with a flashback where we see that Travis Montgomery (Jay Hayden), Travis' husband Michael and Theo Ruiz (Carlos Miranda) were all good friends when they were training as rookie firefighters. However, all this has changed now of course with Travis blaming Ruiz for the death of his husband Michael. Meanwhile, things are still extremely strained between Vic (Barrett Doss) and Travis.

Vic keeps asking Travis if they can talk, and he counters by asking her if she has ended things with her boyfriend Ruiz. Vic stresses again that nothing even started for her to end. Vic tells Travis that they need to work together and she is concerned about that. Travis then tells her to stop picking at the situation, to leave it alone so that it has time to heal and not scar.

The tension between Vic and Travis comes to a head though when they are dealing with a patient who has overdosed. The stress of the moment leads to Travis lashing out at Vic. Vic defends herself saying she only had shared one kiss with Ruiz and as soon as she knew who he was she was going to break it off. Travis says that he walked in on them hugging, she says that she was trying to comfort him. He says sarcastically, that he's sorry that losing Vic was so hard on Ruiz. She says it wasn't losing her, it was losing Michael.

We then in a flashback see just how tough this must have been for Ruiz because Ruiz was Michael's roommate and best friend and a big cheerleader of their romance. He was even there when Travis and Michael proposed to each other. Vic then tells Travis that his ostrich in the sand modus operandi just doesn't work for everything. It turns out that Travis is actually angry that Vic even heard Ruiz's side at all.

Travis and Vic then start to make some headway after an ugly showdown, on the side of the road, where Travis accuses Vic of never even having cared for her partner who she lost because she seemed to get over his death so fast. On the contrary, Travis even four years after Michael's death finds it just as painful. It then comes to light that Travis feels that if he lets go of his anger, he will have to let go of Michael also. Fans also got to see what led to Michael's death. We see in a flashback Theo explaining to a distraught Travis, that he miscalculated the direction a fire was coming from and that led to his death. It seems that Travis and Michael's concerns that we see in a flashback that Ruiz was too inexperienced to be a lieutenant, have unfortunately come true.

Vic and Theo bump into each other at the end of the day.  Vic says she feels sad, Theo tells her that it's normal to feel sad after a breakup. She says was it even a breakup if it was never a thing. He says that it might have been worse. Travis again walks in seeing Vic and Theo talking. But this time he's not angry, he explains to Vic who Theo was to Michael. He says that Theo was a legacy kid, so he moved up the ladder faster. We see Vic and Travis almost back to normal, when Travis says that he hates this part of a friendship where things are still icky and not quite back to normal. Vic says in a normal relationship you can just have sex. Travis says that Vic for the thousandth time, "I'm not going to have sex with you" and they start to laugh.

Fans were delighted that Vic and Travis seem to be on the road back to normalcy. One fan tweeted, "My heart is so happy!!"

Another tweeted, "Jays acting was beautiful".

Does this mean that Travis will also eventually give the Vic Theo relationship his consent? To find out more, you can tune into new episodes of 'Station 19' every Thursday on ABC.
